Senior Manager - Procurement

Description:

We are looking for a highly capable and experienced Senior Procurement Manager to lead direct procurement across critical material categories. This role combines strategic sourcing and hands-on execution and is central to improving supply reliability, cost efficiency, and vendor performance.

The ideal candidate will bring strong experience sourcing metals (steel, aluminum), wood products (ply, MDF, hardwood), and interior/fit-out materials for manufacturing, infrastructure, or project-based environments.

Key Responsibilities:

- Lead procurement of raw materials and finished goods, including metals, wood products, and interior components.

- Own supplier identification, evaluation, onboarding, and performance management across categories.

- Negotiate contracts, pricing, payment terms, and SLAs with vendors and manufacturers.

- Ensure timely material availability aligned with project timelines and production plans.

- Develop and execute sourcing strategies to reduce cost while improving quality, reliability, and service levels.

- Collaborate closely with design, production, planning, and logistics teams to align procurement with business needs.

- Track market trends, pricing movements, and supply risks; identify alternate suppliers or materials proactively.

- Maintain procurement documentation including POs, contracts, and supplier scorecards using ERP / SCM systems.

- Drive cost optimization and value engineering initiatives without compromising quality or timelines.

Experience & Qualifications:

Required Experience:

- 7 to 10 years of total experience in direct procurement / strategic sourcing

- Strong exposure to metal, wood, and interior fit-out materials

- Experience in manufacturing, infrastructure, interiors, or project-driven organizations

- Established vendor network across India for both raw materials and finished goods

Skills & Competencies:

- Strong negotiation and contract management capability

- Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams (design, operations, finance)

- Proficiency in ERP / procurement systems (SAP, Zoho, Tally, or similar)

- Strong analytical, organizational, and stakeholder management skills

- Hands-on, execution-oriented mindset with attention to detail

Role Level:

- Individual contributor role with high ownership

- Potential to evolve into Procurement Head / Category Lead based on scale and performance
