Description:
Role & responsibilities
1. Business Partnering & Strategic Support:
- Act as the primary finance partner to Plant Heads and Operational Leadership across mills
- Provide insightful analysis on production efficiency, yield, conversion costs, labour productivity, and overhead utilisation.
- Support operational decision-making through scenario modelling, cost simulations and investment analysis.
- Drive disciplined performance management through monthly plant reviews, KPIs, variance analysis and actionable insights.
- Influence cross-functional stakeholders with strong financial reasoning and commercially grounded recommendations.
2. Financial Control & Governance:
- Lead and manage the full spectrum of Mill Finance: inventory, material variances, overhead absorption, scrap analysis, and working capital optimisation.
- Ensure transactional accounting accuracy and timeliness pertaining to mills including journal entry posting, liasing with relevant stakeholders including DXC.
- Lead P2P vertical for MCPL ensuring good controls in this area as well as good stakeholder Management with Procurement, Supply Chain.
- Handle legacy VAT cases and ensure support in areas of GST and local HR and legal cases.
- Ensure compliance with Group policies, statutory requirements, and internal control frameworks.
- Partner with Internal Audit and External Auditors to ensure timely closure of observations and audit readiness.
- Oversee Capex governance, business cases, post-implementation reviews and asset capitalisation.
3. Digital & Process Transformation:
- Champion the rollout of digital manufacturing finance tools including Power Apps, Power BI
dashboards, automated cost tracking, and workflow digitisation.
- Drive data integrity and real-time visibility across manufacturing using modern digital tools.
4. Budgeting, Forecasting & Cost Management:
- Lead annual budget and rolling forecasts for all factories, aligning operational assumptions with commercial and supply chain inputs.
- Partner with operations to identify cost improvement opportunities in energy, labour, logistics, maintenance, and procurement.
- Support the business with margin improvement initiatives through deep cost visibility and project financials.
5. People Leadership:
- Manage and develop a team of 16 finance professionals, instilling strong financial discipline, operational understanding, and analytical capabilities.
- Build a high-performance, digitally savvy team with strong business partnering behaviours.
- Provide coaching, skill development, and succession planning.
Preferred candidate profile
- Qualified accountant CA with minimum 10 years post-qualification experience.
- At least 10 years experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably multi-site.
- Strong business partnering capability with the ability to influence at senior levels.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to simplify complex concepts.
- Strong commercial acumen and operational understanding.
- Ability to work independently and cross-functionally in a matrix environment.
