Senior Manager - Operations
Description:
The Senior Manager Operations will lead and scale day-to-day operations for a pan-India services business, managing multiple categories such as Intercity and Intracity operations across 10+ cities with aggressive expansion plans.
This role requires strong execution rigor, people leadership, and data-driven decision-making, combined with a deep understanding of on-ground operations. The ideal candidate has experience managing multi-city, experience-led businesses, building high-performing teams, and translating business strategy into operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Operations Management
- Own and drive daily operations across multiple business verticals with strong execution discipline
- Plan and align supply capacity to projected demand while maintaining service quality standards
- Allocate, manage, and develop city-level operations teams for effective on-ground execution
2. SOPs, GTMs & Process Excellence
- Implement and scale Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Go-To-Market (GTM) plans for new launches
- Identify operational gaps and drive process improvements in collaboration with Product, Analytics, and Central teams
- Ensure adherence to quality, turnaround time, and customer experience standards
3. Business & Category Leadership
- Lead geographic and category expansion initiatives with cross-functional stakeholders
- Co-own P&L responsibility for assigned categories
- Drive strategic objectives such as NPS improvement, new service launches, and operational scalability
4. Market Intelligence & Strategy
- Track market trends in pricing, competition, and service quality to shape short- and mid-term strategies
- Apply micro-market insights to optimize routes, city-level playbooks, and customer experience
5. Escalation & Risk Management
- Build escalation-handling frameworks to ensure swift resolution and root-cause elimination
- Identify recurring operational risks and implement long-term structural fixes
- Establish robust governance mechanisms for city-level operations
6. Vision & Roadmap
- Define a clear operations vision and execution roadmap aligned with business growth
- Lead multi-city teams through structured planning, communication, and performance management
Skills & Competencies:
Must-Have:
- Proven people leadership, with prior experience managing managers and large on-ground teams (20+ members)
- Strong experience running multi-city operations
- Excellent communication and stakeholder influence skills
- High comfort with data-driven decision-making combined with ground intelligence
- Strong on-ground bias with a hands-on, problem-solving mindset and willingness to travel extensively
Good-to-Have:
- Experience in logistics, mobility, supply chain, or marketplace operations
- Exposure to category management roles combining strategy and execution
