Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Senior Manager to lead fund accounting, financial reporting and investor reporting engagements for private equity and alternative investment fund clients in India, primarily Category II AIFs.

The role will have overall responsibility for client relationships, delivery quality, technical oversight, team leadership, engagement governance, process transformation and operational performance. The individual will be expected to combine strong PE/AIF technical knowledge with the ability to lead complex engagements and senior client relationships.

Key Responsibilities:

Fund Accounting & Technical Oversight:

- Oversee end-to-end fund accounting, including monthly/quarterly close, NAV calculations, investment accounting, capital calls, distributions, expense allocations and reconciliations.

- Review complex GP/LP allocations, management fees, carried interest and waterfall calculations in accordance with fund agreements and approved methodologies.

- Provide technical oversight over investor reporting, financial statements (Indian GAAP/Ind AS/IFRS/US GAAP) and other key fund deliverables.

- Ensure appropriate review controls, reconciliations and audit-ready documentation across engagements.

Client & Engagement Leadership:

- Lead multiple and/or complex PE/AIF engagements and act as a senior point of contact for client CFOs, fund finance teams, investment teams, administrators and auditors.

- Own engagement governance, delivery timelines, service quality, issue resolution and escalation of significant technical or operational matters.

- Oversee preparation of periodic/annual financial statements, audit coordination and accounting support for applicable regulatory and compliance reporting.

- Ensure delivery remains aligned with fund documentation, applicable accounting standards and engagement requirements.

People Leadership & Quality:

- Lead and develop Managers, Assistant Managers and delivery teams across engagements.

- Establish appropriate review structures and promote strong maker-checker controls, accountability and timely escalation.

- Drive consistent quality standards and identify recurring issues requiring process or control improvements.

Process Improvement & Commercial Management:

- Drive standardisation, automation and technology-enabled improvements across fund accounting and reporting processes.

- Own engagement budgets, resourcing, scope management, billing and overall engagement economics.

- Support proposals, solution design, client pursuits and expansion of PE/AIF ACR services.

- Contribute to practice development through methodologies, training and collaboration with accounting, tax, regulatory and technology teams.

Qualifications / Preferred Attributes:

- CA / MBA (Finance) preferred.

- 7 - 12+ years of relevant experience in PE/AIF or alternative-investment fund accounting and reporting.

- Strong knowledge of fund structures, NAVs, GP/LP allocations, management fees, carried interest and waterfall models.

- Proven experience in senior client management, team leadership, quality oversight and management of multiple engagements.

- Strong Operational acumen, problem-solving ability and stakeholder-management skills.

- Advanced Excel and financial-modelling skills; exposure to fund-accounting, ERP and reporting technologies desirable.
