Job description - - Frame and implement strategies, policies, plans and programs for legal function. - Develop communicate and implement Contracts Governance and risk framework to protect interests of the organization, raising out of contractual issues Non-Litigation - Preliminary scrutiny of title of property at the stage of acquisition of land and finding out prima facie title of the land before initiating any activities - Provide legal support in structuring, drafting, vetting inspecting the legal documents viz. agreements, contracts, deeds, MoU, pleadings, affidavits, undertakings, argument notes, etc. to ensure that the associated risks are minimized. - Drafting, vetting, review in approval and interpretation of various types of documents including land acquisition, sale, leasing, licensing, commercial agreements, contracts, etc. - Providing legal counseling on issues relating to land acquisition, environment, labour, Corporate Governance, etc to prevent inadvertent violation of statutory provision and ensure hassle free business operations. - Assist Management during Business Development process in terms of contractual risk mitigation measures. Legal due diligence during land acquisition, Joint Development, Redevelopment project, SRA Projects - Drafts Power of Attorney documents, Affidavits, Leave and License agreements, Confidentiality Agreements, notices and replies to the notices, any other document impacting legal consequences - Acts as a Custodian of all the legal contracts that company has associated with internal or external parties - Coordination with External consultants, Business development, Liaisoning Architect to receive required documents during drafting of legal documents Litigation - Liaising actively with various Advocates and Senior Advocates to support the company s objectives and to minimize the legal risks - Review progress of various litigation and advise the Management on their progress and take them forward to their logical conclusion - Advise the Management on protective writ petitions to be filed and then take them forward to their logical conclusion - Guiding in referring issues to the Dispute Resolution Board / Arbitration/ Courts as defined in the contract - Preserving company s legal protection through legal vetting of diverse contracts and agreements - Continuously monitor changes in the laws, regulations and policies relating to Real Estate development Manage Performance - Influences, motivates, and enables subordinates to contribute towards the effectiveness and success of the organization Education - LLB and CS (not must) Key Skills - Redevelopment Due diligence Dispute resolution Corporate governance Litigation Legal Leasing Labour Management Licensing
