Role Overview
The Senior Manager Logistics Sourcing will play a critical role in shaping and executing global logistics sourcing strategies. This position will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to design scalable, cost-efficient, and high-performance logistics solutions across multiple transportation modes. The role demands strong strategic thinking, commercial acumen, and leadership capability to drive sourcing excellence, customer satisfaction, and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and lead strategic logistics sourcing initiatives aligned with organizational goals.
- Own end-to-end logistics sourcing strategies covering cost optimization, service quality, and capacity planning across all transportation modes.
- Lead commercial negotiations, contract structuring, and performance management with global forwarders, carriers, and warehousing partners across ocean, air, road, last-mile, and storage services.
- Identify, evaluate, and onboard strategic logistics partners to enhance competitiveness, capacity, and regional cost efficiency.
- Lead regional and global RFQs/RFPs including bid design, proposal evaluation, and alignment with senior leadership on sourcing decisions.
- Partner closely with Legal teams to negotiate service contracts, ensuring favorable commercial terms, SLA commitments, and risk mitigation clauses.
- Collaborate with Operations, Sales, and Project teams to design logistics strategies that optimize landed cost while meeting delivery timelines and customer expectations.
- Work closely with logistics operations and planning teams to ensure seamless execution of high-priority and complex shipments.
- Drive continuous improvement through quarterly business reviews, supplier scorecards, and structured vendor development programs.
- Act as the escalation point for logistics exceptions, resolving issues swiftly with service providers and internal stakeholders.
- Design and implement process improvements to enhance supply chain efficiency, transparency, and responsiveness.
- Stay current on global trade regulations, customs compliance, and transportation laws, ensuring adherence during shipment execution.
- Build, mentor, and lead a high-performing logistics sourcing team across regions.
Required Qualifications & Experience:
- Masters degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or a related discipline from a reputed institution.
- Minimum 1 to 5 years of experience managing multimodal logistics sourcing and operations (ocean, air, road) within manufacturing, infrastructure, renewable energy, or large project environments.
- Strong regional exposure across Asia, Oceania, and the Middle East, handling high-volume or project-based logistics.
- Proven track record in strategic sourcing, contract negotiations, and supplier performance management.
- Strong analytical capability, commercial orientation, and ability to influence stakeholders across all organizational levels.
Preferred Experience:
- Experience managing complex, cross-functional projects balancing cost, quality, and timelines.
