
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage the monthly, quarterly, and annual financial closing processes to ensure accurate and timely reporting for management and regulatory bodies.
- Oversee the reconciliation of complex insurance-specific accounts, including premium income, claims reserves, and reinsurance settlements, to maintain ledger integrity.
- Lead the preparation of statutory financial statements and regulatory filings, ensuring full adherence to IRDAI guidelines and relevant accounting standards.
- Collaborate with internal and external auditors to facilitate seamless audits, addressing queries and implementing process improvements based on audit findings.
- Analyze variances in financial performance against budgets and forecasts, providing clear explanations to leadership to support informed business planning.
- Mentor junior team members and streamline accounting workflows to enhance operational efficiency and data accuracy across the finance function.
Required Skillset:
- Demonstrated expertise in financial reporting and general accounting principles, specifically within the insurance or financial services sector.
- Proven ability to interpret and apply complex regulatory frameworks and accounting standards to ensure organizational compliance.
- Strong analytical mindset with the ability to synthesize large datasets into concise, high-level reports for senior stakeholders.
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, enabling effective collaboration with diverse teams and clear articulation of financial concepts.
- A qualified Chartered Accountant (CA) with 2 to 3 years of post-qualification experience in a fast-paced accounting environment.
- High degree of adaptability and professional maturity, with the ability to thrive in an on-site work environment in Mumbai while managing competing priorities under tight deadlines.
