Job Description:


We are seeking a highly experienced and detail-oriented Senior Manager Inspection and Enforcement to oversee regulatory inspection, compliance monitoring, enforcement proceedings, and member supervision in alignment with SEBI and Exchange regulations. The role requires strong expertise in accounting, auditing, financial analysis, regulatory frameworks, and enforcement actions to ensure compliance and effective regulatory governance.


The ideal candidate will be responsible for analyzing inspection reports, handling enforcement proceedings, coordinating with regulatory authorities, issuing observation and show cause notices, and ensuring effective implementation of regulatory actions. This role also requires strong stakeholder management and team leadership capabilities.


Key Responsibilities:


Inspection & Regulatory Compliance:


- Conduct detailed analysis of inspection reports received from onsite inspection teams and obtain clarifications or additional information wherever required.


- Ensure compliance with SEBI, Exchange circulars, guidelines, and regulatory frameworks by interpreting updates and guiding members regarding implementation requirements.


- Monitor and assess regulatory adherence of members and identify non-compliance areas for corrective action.


- Maintain complete and organized inspection records, supporting documents, analysis reports, and case files for higher authority review and audit purposes.


Enforcement & Regulatory Actions:


- Draft and prepare Letters of Observation cum Show Cause Notices (LO cum SCN) based on inspection findings and seek approvals before issuance to members.


- Follow up with members regarding replies, supporting documents, and clarifications pertaining to issued notices.


- Analyze responses received from members and prepare detailed response analysis, approval notes, summaries, and agendas for management or committee review.


- Coordinate enforcement actions and ensure implementation of approved departmental decisions and corrective actions.


- Initiate requests for issuance of status reports and levy penalties, including regular follow-up in cases of delays or non-compliance.


Regulatory Interpretation & Stakeholder Coordination:


- Interpret circulars, notifications, and guidelines issued by SEBI and Stock Exchanges and provide guidance to members for effective implementation.


- Liaise and coordinate with regulatory and enforcement agencies such as SEBI, EOW, CBI, and other authorities on matters related to inspections, investigations, and compliance.


- Provide information and updates regarding enforcement actions and ensure timely communication with concerned stakeholders and members.


Accounting, Audit & Financial Analysis:


- Apply strong understanding of accounting principles, auditing standards, and financial statement analysis to review inspection findings and identify discrepancies or risk areas.


- Assess financial records, compliance documentation, and operational processes to support regulatory enforcement activities.


- Evaluate inspection observations and financial implications to support regulatory decision-making.

MIS, Reporting & Documentation


- Manage MIS and reporting activities related to the regulatory division, ensuring accurate and timely updates for management review.


- Prepare reports, case summaries, regulatory documentation, and enforcement updates as directed by management or committee members.


- Maintain proper documentation and accessibility of all records for compliance, review, and regulatory purposes.


Team Management & Training:


- Train, mentor, and guide team members on SEBI/Exchange regulatory standards, inspection processes, enforcement procedures, and departmental requirements.


- Ensure team members work in a timely, compliant, and effective manner while maintaining process accuracy and quality standards.


- Promote knowledge-sharing and regulatory awareness within the team.


Required Candidate Profile:


- 10-14 years of relevant experience in Inspection, Enforcement, Regulatory Compliance, Risk Management, Audit, or Financial Supervision, preferably in Capital Markets, Stock Exchanges, Financial Services, Regulatory Bodies, or BFSI domains.


- Strong understanding of accounting, auditing, financial statement analysis, and regulatory compliance frameworks.


- Hands-on experience dealing with regulatory and enforcement agencies such as SEBI, EOW, CBI, or similar authorities.


- Experience in preparing and handling Letters of Observation, Show Cause Notices, enforcement actions, and compliance proceedings.


- Strong analytical and documentation skills with the ability to interpret regulatory circulars and guidelines.


- Excellent stakeholder management, communication, and problem-solving abilities.


- Experience in team handling, mentoring, and regulatory process management.
