Job Summary:
We are looking for a qualified professional to join our Indirect Tax team, specializing in GST advisory and litigation support. The role involves providing expert tax advice, handling notices and appeals, drafting legal submissions, and representing clients before tax authorities and tribunals. The ideal candidate will have strong legal acumen, excellent drafting skills, and a good grasp of recent GST legal developments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide advisory services on complex GST matters including classification, valuation, place of supply, input tax credit, and exemptions.
- Analyze client transactions and draft opinions, notes, and memos on GST implications.
- Draft and file replies to GST notices, SCNs (Show Cause Notices), and other communications from the department.
- Represent clients in GST audits, adjudication proceedings, and appeals before the tax authorities, appellate authorities, and tribunals.
- Draft legal submissions, appeals, writ petitions, and other litigation documents in coordination with counsels.
- Monitor key judicial pronouncements and provide legal updates to clients and internal teams.
- Support business restructuring, mergers, and acquisitions from a GST impact perspective.
- Engage in client meetings and presentations on technical tax issues and litigation strategy
Qualifications & Experience:
- CA Qualified with 2 plus years of relevant experience in GST advisory and litigation.
- Prior experience in law firms, consulting firms, or tax litigation teams preferred.
- In-depth understanding of GST laws, rules, circulars, and case laws.
- Proficient in drafting legal documents and interpreting statutes.
