Job Description - Senior Manager (HR)


Location: Kolkata, West Bengal


Job Type: Full-time


About Us:


We are seeking an experienced Senior HR Manager to join our team in Kolkata. As a Senior HR professional, you will play a critical role in leading HR functions, driving strategic initiatives, and ensuring the smooth operation of HR activities across the organization.


Key Responsibilities:


1. Strategic HR Management


- Partner with leadership to align HR strategies with organizational goals.


- Drive workforce planning, talent management, and succession planning.


- Develop and implement HR policies, procedures, and best practices.


2. Talent Acquisition & Onboarding


- Lead end-to-end recruitment for senior and critical roles.


- Establish effective employer branding strategies to attract top talent.


- Oversee smooth onboarding and induction processes for new hires.


3. Employee Relations & Engagement


- Foster a positive workplace culture to enhance employee satisfaction, retention, and productivity.


- Handle grievances, disciplinary actions, and conflict resolution fairly and in compliance with policies.


- Design and implement employee engagement initiatives to boost morale and motivation.


4. Performance Management & Development


- Drive appraisal systems and ensure fair performance evaluation.


- Identify skill gaps and roll out training & development programs.


- Support leadership development, mentoring, and coaching initiatives.


5. Compliance & HR Operations


- Ensure compliance with labor laws, statutory requirements, and company policies.


- Oversee payroll, compensation & benefits, and HRIS systems.


- Maintain accurate employee records and ensure data confidentiality.


Requirements


- Age: 25 to 35 years


- Masters degree in Human Resource Management / MBA (HR) or equivalent.


- 2 to 4 years of progressive HR experience, including at least 35 years in a senior HR leadership role.


- Industry exposure to Manufacturing, IT, FMCG, Consulting, etc.


- Strong knowledge of HR policies, labor laws, and compliance frameworks.


- Expertise in recruitment, employee relations, performance management, and HR strategy.


- Excellent communication, negotiation, and leadership skills.


- Ability to manage sensitive situations with discretion and empathy.


- Proficiency in HRIS, MS Office, and HR analytics.
