1. Purpose:
- This position is the Upper line of shopfloor management which is primarily responsible for achieving daily Production as per the requisite schedule determined based on the customer demand confirming safety & quality standards.
- A Production Manager is also responsible for ensuring minimal rejection percentage & achieving the weekly on time production through proper planning and a motivated working atmosphere through people development initiatives like training, continuous communication & addressing any such related grievances.
- This position is responsible for SQDCP in the plant and delivering the KPIs defined in line with company's objective and goal.
- Current position will be responsible for the "AlSi Mono" which includes manufacturing line for AlSi Mono Castable, Well Filler line and Plastics product line.

3. Dimensions of Position:
- This position covers the overall Manufacturing Operations of AR THC plants, ensuring customer support with respect to Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost & People. Some of the key aspects attached to this position are as follows -
- Manufacturing volume 21000 Mt of THC per annum (Approx)
- Total Team Size
2 Management staff
3 Team Leaders 40+ operators (Approx)
- HSE
a. SIOPA/IOPA >95% and 8/12 per employee/year respectively
b. SWI for all repetitive jobs
c. Safety audit
- Quality
a. No repeat manufacturing CCAR
b. Escape rate <10%
- Delivery
a. +90% OTD
b. +95% AWPP
c. 3 Weeks delivery for any new patterns (except spls)
- Cost
a. Ensure expenditure within budget (variance)
- People
a. Training and development plan for team
b. Performance appraisal process & carrier progression for team
4. Key Result Areas:
4.1 Ensure the Health, Safety, and Environment of the manufacturing plants, especially through -
- Implementation of the HSE standards (SWI, OK to Start, Safety audit, Line PPS)
- Control overtime work to avoid any Health & Safety issues
4.2 Guarantee customer satisfaction through high standards of Product quality and 'right first time' attitude
- Implementing quality initiatives
- Providing leadership and actively participating in cross-functional teams to rapidly resolve quality-related issues and improve product performance through 8D methodology.
- Ensuring effective change management on the shop floor
4.3 Ensure daily performance of management routine duties
4.4 To actively manage the performance improvement of the manufacturing process through:
- Deployment of proper resources
- Cooperate and coordinate with support functions
- Ensuring conversion cost within budget
4.5 Develop a highly motivated and performing workforce on the shop floor through leadership
- Develop a training plan to continuously improve technical skills and understanding of 5S, work standardisation, visual management, waste elimination, problem solving, etc.
- Actively and routinely coach team members to develop the skills & competency levels of the team and knowledge/awareness of usage of new technology/processes/methodology
- Develop and maintain a high-quality relationship within the team
Qualifications & Experience:
- Min 10+ years of experience in manufacturing industries like material processing, ceramic, basic engineering
- Hands on experience of using modern manufacturing principles & methodology (Lean manufacturing) including different problem solving tools like 8D, fish bone, why-why
- Hands on experience in Vendor management and handling contract work force at shop floor
- Handling a team to achieve the desired outcome
Knowledge:
- In depth understanding of modern manufacturing principles (TPM, Lean manufacturing)
- Broad & comprehensive understanding of industrial safety standards
- Good understanding of Product manufacturing & end Product application
- Good understanding of engineering drawings
- Detailed knowledge on Problem Solving tools & methodology (8D, fish bone, why-why etc.)
- General understanding on cost control initiatives
- Basic understanding of people psychology
- Awareness on Quality Management systems
