Job Title : Senior Manager - Forensic Audit & Investigations

Location : Chennai, India

Reporting To : Head of Internal Audit / Chief Risk Officer (as applicable)

Industry : IT Products & IT Services (Mid-sized organization)

Role Overview:

The Senior Manager - Forensic Audit & Investigations will lead and manage complex forensic audits, fraud investigations, and misconduct reviews across the organization, with a strong focus on IT services delivery, product development, procurement, sales, and third-party ecosystems. The role requires deep expertise in forensic accounting, fraud analytics, digital forensics, regulatory compliance, and stakeholder management, along with the ability to advise senior leadership on fraud risk mitigation and control enhancement.

Key Responsibilities:

Forensic Audits & Investigations:

- Lead end-to-end forensic investigations into allegations.

- Conduct investigations triggered through whistleblower complaints, internal audits, management requests, or regulatory concerns.

- Oversee evidence collection, forensic accounting analysis, digital forensics, ESI reviews, and documentation assessment while maintaining chain of custody.

- Prepare clear, defensible investigation reports with findings, root-cause analysis, quantified impact, and actionable recommendations for senior management and Audit Committee.

Fraud Risk Management & Prevention:

- Design and execute fraud risk assessments across IT delivery, sales contracting, procurement, vendor management, project accounting, payroll, and expense management.

- Identify systemic control gaps, emerging fraud patterns, and technology-related risks (including data misuse and system override risks).

- Support development and enhancement of anti-fraud frameworks, policies, SOPs, and internal controls.

Digital Forensics & Data Analytics:

- Oversee digital forensic reviews including email reviews, disk imaging, log analysis, and data analytics using forensic tools.

- Leverage data analytics to identify anomalies, trends, and red flags across large transactional datasets.

- Work closely with IT, InfoSec, and Legal teams on technology-enabled investigations.

Stakeholder & Regulatory Interface:

- Present investigation outcomes to senior leadership, Audit Committee, Legal, Compliance, and external advisors.

- Support litigation, arbitration, and regulatory inquiries by providing forensic insights, documentation, and expert support as required.

- Coordinate with external agencies, law enforcement, and forensic specialists when necessary.

Qualifications & Experience:

- Professional Qualification: Chartered Accountant (CA) and CFE preferred.

Experience:

- 10-15+ years of progressive experience in forensic audits, fraud investigations, and risk advisory.

- Prior experience in Big 4 / reputed forensic or risk consulting firms and/or large corporates preferred.

- Exposure to IT / technology-driven businesses is highly desirable.

- Certifications: CFE, forensic accounting, digital forensics, or fraud analytics certifications preferred.
