Job Title : Senior Manager - Equity Research

Department : Investment Research & Analytics

Location : Mumbai

Work Schedule : 4 days a week from office

Reporting to : VP

Experience Required

Total experience: 9-15 years

Relevant experience : 4-5 years in Equity Research

- Team management experience: At least 3 years in a team leadership role

- Global markets experience is mandatory

- Buy-side & sell-side both - candidate should be comfortable with either

Key Responsibilities :

Client & Account Ownership

- Primary point of contact for global clients (asset managers, hedge funds, family offices, brokerage houses, pension funds, sovereign wealth funds, CIO offices)

- Own end-to-end delivery: initiation notes, earnings updates, thematic reports, financial models (DCF, trading comps, scenario analysis), idea generation

- Drive account growth via cross-selling and upselling

Research & Delivery Excellence

- Lead equity research deliverables across sectors and geographies

- Guide teams on investment thesis, valuation methodologies, industry/macro analysis

- Introduce best practices, standardization, automation in research workflows

- Manage pilot engagements and new account onboarding

Team Leadership

- Manage and mentor a team of analysts and associates

- Drive performance management, training, and capability building

- Ensure optimal resource allocation and address people issues

Business Development & Growth

- Support new client acquisition: proposals, pitch decks, RFP responses

- Create thought leadership content (whitepapers, thematic reports)

- Collaborate with BD and marketing on lead generation and capability building

Financial & Operational Ownership

- Own account-level P&L, pricing, margin optimization

- Drive revenue growth, realization rates, cost efficiencies

- Monitor KPIs: revenue per analyst, utilization rates, client satisfaction (NPS/CSAT)

AI & Innovation Enablement

- Drive adoption of AI-enabled research tools (screening, automated models, summarization engines)

- Identify automation and productivity enhancement opportunities

Research Insights Contribution

- Support in-house research insights via articles, blogs, infographics

- Encourage team members to contribute content

Position Requirements

Functional:

- MBA (Finance) from top-tier institute, CFA, CA ranker, or FRM

- 10-14 years of experience in Equity Research (sell-side/buy-side)

- Strong expertise in financial modeling & valuation, industry/company analysis, report writing

- Strong understanding of global equity markets

Behavioral :

- Strong client management and stakeholder handling skills

- Ability to work in a fast-paced, KPI-driven environment

- High ownership, attention to detail, and quality focus
