Description:
Location: Bangalore (GCC / Corporate Hub)

Reporting To: Country HR Lead

Experience: 1216 years overall | Minimum 6+ years as ER Subject Matter Expert

Industry Focus: GCCs, IT/ITES, Shared Services, Captive Centers, Consulting.

Role Type: Individual Contributor ER Governance (Not HRBP, Not Plant HR)

Key Accountabilities:

ER Advisory & Governance:


- Act as the ER Subject Matter Expert for the Bangalore Hub, providing advisory and decision-making support to leadership, HRBPs, and HR teams.

- Serve as the final authority/designation maker on complex ER, disciplinary, and ethical matters.

- Ensure consistent interpretation and application of ER policies, standards, and disciplinary frameworks aligned with global policies and the Company Code of Ethics.

Investigations, POSH & Committees:


- Lead and oversee investigations related to misconduct, harassment, discrimination, retaliation, whistleblower complaints, and ethics violations.

- Provide governance oversight and advisory support to statutory and internal committees including:

Grievance Redressal Committees:


Ethics / Compliance Committees:

- Manage ER cases end-to-end, ensuring timely, confidential, and legally defensible closure.

- Drive POSH awareness, training, and certification programs for employees, people managers, and HR teams.

Policy, Compliance & Risk Management:


- Develop, review, and enhance ER policies, SOPs, and governance standards in line with global frameworks and Indian labor laws.

- Ensure 100% compliance with applicable Central and State labor laws and statutory requirements for a GCC / captive setup.

- Design and implement legal compliance management processes, audits, and controls.

- Ensure adherence to HR risk management frameworks, data privacy, and confidentiality requirements.

Grievance & Performance Management:


- Lead resolution of complex employee grievances using structured investigation methodologies and sound judgment.

- Support performance-related actions and disciplinary processes aligned with global standards and local legal requirements.

- Track ER metrics, analyze trends, and proactively highlight risks, insights, and improvement opportunities to leadership.

Stakeholder & Risk Partnership:


- Partner with senior business leaders, HRBPs, Legal, Compliance, and external counsel as required.

- Assess legal, regulatory, and reputational risk in employee-related matters and recommend appropriate mitigation strategies.

Essential Skills & Experience

Education:


- Bachelors degree (mandatory)

- Full-time Masters degree in Human Resources / Industrial Relations / Labor Welfare from a reputed institute (mandatory)

Experience:


- 12-16 years of overall HR experience

- Minimum 6+ years of specialized Employee Relations experience in GCCs, IT/ITES, shared services, or captive centers

- Proven experience working with global policies, matrix structures, and senior international stakeholders

Hands-on exposure to:


- POSH governance and investigations

- Complex ER investigations and disciplinary actions

- Grievance handling in corporate environments

- Labor law compliance for the white-collar workforce

- ER policy formulation and governance
