Role Overview:
The Sr. Manager - Modern Trade will be responsible for driving sales and market share within the modern trade channel for the company's fashion retail brands. This role involves developing and executing channel-specific strategies, managing key accounts, optimizing product assortment, and ensuring effective brand visibility and promotion. The Sr. Manager will collaborate closely with sales, marketing, supply chain, and category management teams to achieve business objectives and enhance the company's presence in modern trade outlets.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement a comprehensive go-to-market strategy for the modern trade channel, aligning with overall business objectives and brand guidelines.
- Manage relationships with key modern trade accounts, including national and regional retailers, to maximize sales and ensure optimal shelf space and product placement.
- Analyze sales data, market trends, and competitor activities to identify opportunities for growth and optimize product assortment and pricing strategies.
- Collaborate with the marketing team to develop and execute channel-specific promotional campaigns and brand activation initiatives to drive consumer engagement and sales.
- Work closely with the supply chain team to ensure timely and efficient delivery of products to modern trade outlets, minimizing stockouts and maximizing inventory turnover.
- Monitor and evaluate the performance of modern trade accounts, providing regular reports and insights to senior management.
- Lead and mentor a team of area sales managers, providing guidance and support to achieve sales targets and develop their professional skills.
- Identify and evaluate new modern trade opportunities, including potential partnerships and expansion into new regions or formats.
- Manage the modern trade budget effectively, ensuring optimal allocation of resources to maximize ROI.
- Implement omnichannel strategies to integrate modern trade with online channels, enhancing the customer experience and driving sales across all platforms.
Required Skillset:
- Demonstrated ability to develop and execute successful channel management strategies in the modern trade environment within the fashion retail industry.
- Proven expertise in managing key accounts, negotiating contracts, and building strong relationships with retailers.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret sales data, market trends, and competitor activities to identify opportunities and optimize performance.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills with the ability to influence and collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
- Deep understanding of category management principles and the ability to develop and implement effective product assortment and pricing strategies.
- Experience in brand management and developing channel-specific marketing campaigns to drive consumer engagement and sales.
- Ability to lead and motivate a team of sales professionals to achieve targets and develop their skills.
- Bachelor's degree in business administration, marketing, or a related field.
- 9-14 years of relevant experience in retail sales, modern trade, channel management, category management, brand management, go-to-market strategy, and omnichannel retail.
