Senior Manager - Direct Taxation - CA

Job Description

We are seeking a seasoned professional to lead and manage all aspects of Direct Taxation for our organization. The ideal candidate will ensure full compliance with all relevant tax laws and regulations, manage assessments and audits, optimize tax liabilities, and support business initiatives with strategic tax planning.

Key Responsibilities:

Tax Compliance & Filings:

- Ensure timely and accurate filing of all direct tax returns (corporate income tax, TDS, advance tax, etc.)

- Oversee tax audits, assessments, and litigation proceedings

- Maintain up-to-date documentation and compliance with all statutory tax requirements

Tax Planning & Strategy:

- Develop and implement effective tax planning strategies to optimize tax outflow

- Conduct tax impact analysis on various business initiatives and transactions

- Liaise with internal stakeholders on business transactions to ensure tax efficiency

Assessments & Litigation:

- Represent the company before tax authorities, including handling scrutiny assessments and appeals

- Coordinate with tax consultants and legal counsel for ongoing disputes

- Manage notices and queries from income tax departments effectively

Transfer Pricing:

- Ensure compliance with transfer pricing regulations and documentation requirements

- Liaise with internal teams and external advisors for transfer pricing audits and certifications

Stakeholder Management:

- Coordinate with external auditors, tax advisors, and regulatory authorities

- Work closely with business and finance teams on tax-related matters

- Provide tax advisory support to business units and senior management

Qualifications & Experience:

- Qualified Chartered Accountant (CA) or LLB with strong tax background

- 10+ years of progressive experience in direct taxation, preferably with a mix of industry and consulting firm experience

- In-depth knowledge of Indian Income Tax Act, Transfer Pricing, and International Taxation

- Experience in handling tax assessments, appeals, and litigation

- Strong analytical, communication, and leadership skills
