About the role:
We are looking for an experienced Direct Taxation professional to manage direct tax compliance, tax data analysis, returns, reconciliations, and related submissions. The ideal candidate should have strong knowledge of direct tax regulations, compliance requirements, and experience coordinating with internal stakeholders and tax authorities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Handle direct tax data analysis, preparation and filing of tax returns, and tax reconciliations.
- Ensure compliance with applicable direct tax laws, regulations, and statutory requirements.
- Monitor changes in direct tax regulations and emerging compliance trends, assessing their impact on the organisation.
- Draft submissions to tax authorities, including replies to notices, representations, and appeals.
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams and business units, including interaction with RIL's Direct Taxation team, to ensure timely and accurate tax compliance.
- Support tax-related documentation, reporting, and reconciliation activities.
- Leverage ERP systems to manage and analyse financial and taxation data.
Requirements:
- 5 - 8 years of relevant experience in Direct Taxation.
- Experience working in the service industry or with a reputed Chartered Accountancy (CA) firm.
- Strong hands-on experience in direct tax data analysis, returns, and reconciliations.
- Good understanding of direct tax compliance requirements, regulatory developments, and emerging trends.
- Candidates from industry should have experience working with companies having a turnover of 500 crore or more.
- Experience drafting submissions to tax authorities, including replies and appeals.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and stakeholder coordination skills.
- Experience working with ERP systems such as Oracle Financials or SAP would be an added advantage.
