Senior Manager - Direct & International Tax - Pharma - CA

Role Overview

The role will be responsible for managing direct tax matters for a portfolio of international entities within the Sun Pharma group. This position reports to the Vice President - Direct Tax and will work closely with finance and business teams across multiple jurisdictions.

This is an individual contributor role with ownership of direct tax compliance, advisory and treaty related matters for the assigned entities.

Key Responsibilities

- Manage direct tax compliance for assigned international group entities including tax computations, filings and regulatory reporting.

- Provide advisory support on international taxation matters including cross border transactions, withholding tax implications and treaty based tax positions.

- Interpret and apply Double Taxation Avoidance Agreements for cross border payments and ensure appropriate application of treaty benefits.

- Evaluate tax implications of intercompany transactions, royalty arrangements, financing structures and supply chain transactions.

- Support tax audits, assessments and litigation matters in coordination with external advisors where required.

- Partner with internal stakeholders including finance, legal and treasury teams to provide tax guidance on cross border transactions and business initiatives.

- Monitor developments in international tax regulations and assess their potential impact on the organization.

Candidate Profile

- Chartered Accountant

- 10 to 15 years of experience in Direct Tax.

- Strong exposure to international taxation and tax matters involving jurisdictions outside India.

- Working knowledge of domestic income tax regulations.

- Experience interpreting and applying tax treaties and advising on cross border tax matters.
