Senior Manager - Credit Analyst & Debt Syndication - Merchant Banking

About the Role:

The Sr. Manager - Credit Analyst & Debt Syndication will play a pivotal role in evaluating credit opportunities, preparing financial documentation, and facilitating loan syndication for corporate clients across sectors.

This role also involves mentoring junior analysts, managing client and lender interactions, and supporting end-to-end deal execution.

Candidates with experience in large-ticket debt transactions, restructuring, IBC cases, or stressed asset resolution will be highly preferred.

Key Responsibilities:

- Independently assess the creditworthiness of corporate borrowers, NBFCs, and real estate entities.

- Prepare detailed financial projections, project viability reports, and DSCR/IRR analysis.

- Build and maintain comprehensive financial models for various debt scenarios (term loans, working capital, LRD, etc.

- Draft credit appraisal notes, lender presentations, and investment proposals tailored to lender requirements.

- Lead and coordinate end-to-end debt syndication transactions, including documentation, lender queries, term sheet negotiation, and closure.

- Liaise with banks, NBFCs, DFIs, and AIFs to place structured and vanilla debt products.

- Maintain ongoing relationships with a wide network of lenders and financial institutions.

- Evaluate and advise on restructuring proposals, one-time settlements (OTS), and IBC resolution plans.

- Work with promoters, legal advisors, and insolvency professionals on distressed or stressed assets.

- Prepare resolution plans under the Insolvency & Bankruptcy Code (IBC) framework when applicable.

- Lead and mentor a small team of credit analysts, ensuring accuracy, quality, and timeliness of outputs.

- Collaborate with internal teams (legal, compliance, advisory) and external stakeholders to ensure deal execution efficiency.

- Interface with promoters, CFOs, and senior management of client companies to understand capital needs.

- Support clients in negotiations with lenders and help manage financial due diligence.

Required Qualifications & Skills:

- Educational Qualification: CA / MBA (Finance) / CFA (any level completed).

- Experience: Minimum 3+ years in credit analysis, corporate finance, or debt syndication, preferably in a Merchant banking firm

- NBFC or bank (credit or corporate finance department)

- Investment banking/advisory firm

- Corporate treasury/finance team with significant exposure to debt raising
