Description:
Role Purpose
- The role involves leading compliance assessments across banking functions and newly introduced products, with the objective of providing assurance to senior management on regulatory and policy adherence.
Key Accountabilities
- Assist in drafting the annual Compliance Review Plan for submission to the Board.
- Design and periodically update compliance review checklists aligned with regulatory requirements and internal standards.
- Perform fieldwork and ensure reviews are completed within agreed timelines.
- Prepare initial compliance review reports and engage with stakeholders to discuss observations.
- Consolidate stakeholder responses and issue final compliance review reports.
- Ensure accurate maintenance of documentation and working papers for all reviews conducted.
- Track open items arising from compliance reviews and monitor progress to closure.
- Coordinate with management teams to drive timely resolution of compliance observations.
Core Competencies
- Strong knowledge of the Indian banking regulatory landscape, with emphasis on RBI guidelines.
- Ability to interpret regulatory circulars and apply them to practical scenarios.
- At least 5 years of experience within the banking sector.
- Working knowledge of banking operations including trade finance, remittances, treasury, and related functions.
- Effective interpersonal and communication skills.
