Senior Compliance Manager for Multinational Sourcing Company in Delhi/NCR

Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Compliance Manager Social & Environmental to lead and strengthen compliance functions across a pan-India supplier base for a multinational buying agency. The role requires deep expertise in social, environmental, and product compliance, hands-on audit management, and the ability to work with multiple buyers, factories, and product categories.
The incumbent will be responsible for driving ethical sourcing, sustainability, and continuous improvement initiatives aligned with global compliance standards and buyer expectations.
Key Responsibilities:
Leadership & Compliance Governance:
- Lead Social, Environmental, and Product Compliance functions across factories and sourcing units.
- Develop and implement compliance strategies, policies, and frameworks aligned with buyer codes and international standards.
- Act as the subject matter expert for all compliance-related matters.
- Lead and mentor compliance teams across regions.
Social Compliance:
- Oversee compliance with labor laws, ethical trade standards, and buyer codes of conduct.
- Manage and support audits and assessments including:
- BSCI
- SEDEX / SMETA
- FWF
- FLA
- Fairtrade
- Ensure effective Corrective Action Plan (CAP) development, follow-up, and closure.
- Drive improvements in working conditions, worker welfare, and grievance mechanisms.
- Ensure compliance with Indian statutory and labor regulations.
Environmental Compliance & Sustainability:
- Lead implementation and monitoring of environmental compliance programs across factories.
- Drive Higg FEM assessments and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Support sustainability goals related to:
- Energy efficiency
- Water management
- Waste management
- Chemical management
- Work with factories to align environmental performance with buyer sustainability expectations.
Factory Engagement & Continuous Improvement:
- Work closely with factories to build long-term compliance capabilities.
- Conduct factory visits, risk assessments, and improvement programs.
- Support training and capacity-building initiatives for factory management and workers.
- Identify compliance risks early and proactively mitigate issues.
Buyer & Stakeholder Management:
- Act as a key liaison between buyers, third-party auditors, and suppliers.
- Communicate compliance status, risks, and progress clearly to stakeholders.
- Support buyer audits, reviews, and sustainability initiatives.
