Senior Manager - Finance (Business Finance & Treasury)

Company: An agritech startup

Location: Bangalore

Reports to: Chief Financial Officer (CFO)

Experience: 6+ years post-qualification

About the Role:

We are looking for a sharp, commercially minded Chartered Accountant to own business finance and banking relationships at a fast-growing agritech company. You will work closely with the CFO and business teams to fund growth, protect margins, and bring financial discipline to a business with complex supply chains, seasonal cycles, and a wide market network.

Key Responsibilities:

Business Finance & Partnering:

- Partner with sales, operations, and supply chain teams to track unit economics, margins, and profitability by product, channel, and geography

- Prepare MIS, budgets, forecasts, and variance analysis for the CFO and leadership

- Support strategic decisions with financial models, scenario analysis, and business cases

Banker & Lender Liaison:

- Manage relationships with banks and financial institutions for credit facilities, working capital limits, term loans, and other debt instruments

- Lead fundraising documentation, including sanction proposals, credit presentations, and compliance certificates

- Ensure timely renewals, covenant compliance, and stock/book debt statement submissions

- Negotiate pricing and terms with lenders to optimise the cost of funds

Market Leakage & Margin Control:

- Identify and analyse leakages in the market, such as discounting, scheme and incentive overruns, credit losses, receivable slippage, wastage, and shrinkage

- Build controls, dashboards, and reporting to track and plug these leakages

- Work with commercial teams to improve channel profitability and collections

Capex & Working Capital:

- Assess capex proposals, evaluating ROI, payback, and funding options

- Forecast and manage working capital across inventory, receivables, and payables, accounting for seasonality

- Maintain cash flow forecasts and support liquidity planning with the CFO

Governance & Compliance:

- Support audits, internal controls, and statutory and regulatory compliance

- Strengthen finance processes and systems as the company scales

Qualifications & Experience:

- Chartered Accountant (CA) is mandatory

- 6+ years of post-qualification experience in finance, business finance, or treasury

- Prior experience in a startup or high-growth environment is preferred

- Exposure to agri, FMCG, supply chain, or distribution-led businesses is a plus

- Hands-on experience with bank funding, working capital structuring, and lender documentation

Skills & Attributes:

- Strong financial acumen and analytical ability, with a sharp eye for numbers and anomalies

- Excellent written and verbal communication, able to engage confidently with bankers, founders, and business heads

- Strong Excel and financial modelling skills; comfort with ERP and BI tools

- Ownership mindset, comfortable with ambiguity, and able to work with speed and accuracy

- Ability to influence stakeholders across functions
