Position: Senior Manager (AVP) - Bullion

Job Summary:
Bank of Baroda is seeking an experienced and highly skilled Senior Manager (AVP) - Bullion to lead the comprehensive establishment and management of our bullion desk. The ideal candidate will possess a deep, comprehensive understanding of the precious metals dealing ecosystem, from front-to-back office operations. This role is crucial for designing the entire operational framework, ensuring regulatory compliance, and driving the growth of the bullion business. You will be responsible for defining and implementing all operational procedures, managing trading activities, and contributing to strategic business development.
Key Responsibilities
- Bullion Desk Establishment: Lead the end-to-end establishment of the bullion desk. This includes designing the architecture for both front-office trading and back-office operations. You will be responsible for developing a robust risk management framework, implementing control mechanisms, and formulating all standard operating procedures (SOPs) for trading, clearing, logistics, inventory management, and regulatory compliance.
- IT and Infrastructure Readiness: Coordinate with IT teams to ensure seamless system integration and infrastructure readiness for the bullion desk. This involves ensuring preparedness for all regulatory and audit requirements from a technical and operational standpoint.
- Trading & Operations Management: Actively manage all aspects of bullion trading and operations. This includes executing trades, managing pricing and inventory, and ensuring strict adherence to all applicable regulations. You will also oversee logistics, vaulting operations, and generate accurate MIS reports for governance and strategic reporting.
- Business Development: Drive the development and growth of the bullion business. You will be responsible for identifying new opportunities, building strategic relationships with partners, and expanding our market presence.
- Regulatory Compliance: Ensure adherence to all regulatory compliance frameworks and trading documentation requirements. This involves managing documentation for customs, GST, and cross-border transactions, as well as conducting due diligence (CDD, ECDD), KYC, AML, and CFT checks.
- Stakeholder Management: Coordinate with key partners, including clearing corporations, refineries, vaults, logistics service providers, and banking partners. You will also be responsible for managing internal audits and regulatory inspections.
Required Skills & Domain Knowledge:
- Comprehensive understanding of the precious metals dealing ecosystem.
- Market Platforms: Expertise in various market platforms, clearing, and settlement systems for precious metals.
- Trading & Risk Management: Deep knowledge of pricing strategies, procurement processes, inventory management, hedging mechanisms, margin requirements, and risk management practices.
- Logistics & Operations: Hands-on experience with logistics, vaulting operations, and delivery mechanisms.
- Regulatory Compliance: Strong understanding of regulatory compliance frameworks, trade documentation requirements, and accounting principles relevant to bullion transactions.
- Reporting & Reconciliation: Expertise in MIS generation, regulatory reporting, and reconciliation of trades and inventory positions.
- Compliance: Proven experience with customer due diligence (CDD, ECDD), KYC, AML, and CFT compliance.
- Documentation: Experience in preparing and maintaining documentation related to customs, GST, and cross-border transactions.
