About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced Senior Manager / Assistant Vice President Credit Risk (Construction Finance) to strengthen our Credit Risk team. The role involves evaluating construction finance proposals, monitoring portfolio performance, ensuring regulatory compliance, and supporting sound credit decisions through comprehensive risk assessment and market analysis. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in construction finance, real estate lending, and credit underwriting within the banking or NBFC sector.

Key Responsibilities:

- Evaluate and assess construction finance loan proposals, including financial, technical, legal, and commercial aspects, and present recommendations to the Credit Committee.

- Conduct detailed credit risk analysis to support informed lending decisions while ensuring adherence to the organization's risk appetite.

- Monitor and review underwritten accounts on an ongoing basis to identify emerging risks and ensure portfolio quality.

- Perform periodic portfolio assessments and recommend corrective actions to mitigate credit risk.

- Ensure compliance with internal credit policies, regulatory guidelines, and applicable RBI regulations.

- Respond to credit audit observations and prepare portfolio-related MIS, reports, and risk dashboards for senior management.

- Conduct regular site visits to assess project progress, construction status, collateral quality, and overall project viability.

- Recommend policy and procedural enhancements based on regional market trends, business requirements, and risk observations.

- Support implementation of system integration initiatives and process automation to improve credit monitoring and operational efficiency.

- Assist with industry research, market intelligence, customer analysis, and sector-specific risk assessments.

- Collaborate with Business, Legal, Technical, Operations, and Collections teams to facilitate effective credit evaluation and portfolio management.

- Identify early warning signals and proactively recommend risk mitigation strategies.

Qualifications:

- MBA (Finance), CA, CFA, or other relevant professional qualifications will be an added advantage.

Experience:

- 6-10 years of experience in Credit Risk, Construction Finance, Project Finance, Real Estate Lending, or Wholesale Credit within Banks, NBFCs, or Financial Institutions.

Required Skills & Competencies:

- Strong knowledge of construction finance and real estate project evaluation.

- Expertise in credit underwriting, financial analysis, and risk assessment.

- Sound understanding of RBI regulations and credit risk management practices.

- Ability to analyze project cash flows, financial statements, and collateral structures.

- Experience in portfolio monitoring and credit risk reporting.

- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.

- Excellent stakeholder management and cross-functional collaboration abilities.

- Proficiency in MIS reporting and credit risk monitoring tools.

- Willingness to travel for project site inspections and field assessments.

- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
