Senior Manager/Assistant General Manager/Deputy General Manager - Business Development - Domestic CMO/CDMO
Location: Mumbai, India
Role Overview:
Our client, a leading pharmaceutical manufacturing organization, actively engages in out licensing its product portfolio and also they operate as a CMO for other pharma companies to manufacture drugs as well as Nutraceutical products, is looking for an experienced Business Development professional from the pharmaceutical formulations segment to drive domestic client acquisition for its contract manufacturing business.
The role will focus on identifying and onboarding pharmaceutical companies that require contract manufacturing services for formulations, leveraging the organization's strong capabilities in Oral Solid Dosage (OSD) and Softgel manufacturing.
Key Responsibilities:
- Identify and acquire new domestic pharmaceutical clients requiring contract manufacturing services.
- Promote the organization's manufacturing capabilities in OSD and Softgel dosage forms to pharmaceutical companies across India.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key decision-makers within pharmaceutical companies.
- Manage the end-to-end business development cycle, including lead generation, client meetings, proposal discussions, negotiations, and closures.
- Coordinate with R&D, regulatory, production, and commercial teams to evaluate project feasibility and onboard new clients.
- Drive strategic initiatives to expand the domestic contract manufacturing portfolio.
- Track industry trends, competitor activities, and emerging opportunities within the pharmaceutical formulations segment.
Eligibility Criteria:
Education: B.Pharm / M.Pharm / Life Sciences or related pharmaceutical background.
Experience:
- 8 to 14 years of experience in Business Development within Pharmaceutical Contract Manufacturing (CMO/CDMO).
Preferred Candidate Profile:
- Strong exposure to pharmaceutical formulations (OSD / Softgel or similar dosage forms).
- Prior experience working with CMO/CDMO organizations.
- Proven track record of bringing in contract manufacturing business from pharmaceutical companies.
- Strong network with domestic pharmaceutical companies across India.
- Excellent negotiation, relationship management, and client acquisition skills.
Travel Requirement:
- Domestic travel may be required for client meetings and business development activities.
