Senior Manager - Accounts & Finance - CA

We are currently looking to hire a Senior Manager - Accounts & Finance. Sharing the key requirements below:

- Qualification: Qualified CA (mandatory)

- Experience: 7+ years post-qualification

- Company Background: Must currently be working with an Indian company with turnover above - 1500 Crores (MNC background not preferred)

- Location Preference: Candidate should be from Pune or Maharashtra

- Age: Below 45 years

- Team Management: Should have managed a team of 6-10 people

- IPO Experience: Must have been involved in IPO rollout process for at least 1-2 companies

Key Responsibilities

A. Financial Accounting & Group Consolidation

- Oversee preparation and finalisation of standalone and consolidated financial statements under Ind AS.

- Lead month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes across multiple plants / divisions.

- Manage inter-company reconciliations, eliminations, and group reporting for allied entities (distillery, power, farms).

- Review and approve general ledger entries, journal vouchers, and balance sheet schedules.

- Ensure accurate valuation of inventory - raw sugar, molasses, bagasse, ethanol, and by-products as per Ind AS 2.

- Design and review MIS dashboards, flash reports, and KPI trackers for management decision-making.

B. Cost Management & Profitability Analysis

- Build and maintain a robust cost accounting system for sugar manufacturing - from cane procurement to finished goods dispatch.

- Monitor and analyse unit cost of production (per MT / per quintal) across sugar, ethanol, power units.

- Lead annual budgeting and rolling forecast cycles; track and explain variances with corrective action plans.

- Perform product profitability, segment-wise contribution analysis, and divisional P&L reviews.

- Drive cost reduction programs targeting overhead absorption, energy efficiency, and input material yield.

- Supervise cost audit and Cost Audit Report (CAR) preparation as per Cost Audit Rules.

C. Taxation - Direct & Indirect

- Oversee entire GST lifecycle - GSTR-1, 3B, 9, 9C, input tax credit reconciliations, and departmental audits.

- Lead Income Tax strategy - advance tax planning, tax-efficient structuring, ITR filing, and Form 3CA/3CD tax audit.

- Handle transfer pricing documentation, Form 3CEB, and TP audits for related-party transactions.

- Manage TDS / TCS compliance framework - deductions, TAN returns, 26AS reconciliations, and default corrections.

- Represent the company before Income Tax Appellate Tribunal (ITAT), GST Appellate Authority, and CIT(A).

- Monitor compliance with Sugar Cess, state-specific levies, and government subsidy accounting (DFPD / FCI).

D. Treasury, Banking & Fund Management

- Lead treasury operations - cash flow forecasting, liquidity management, and short-term investment decisions.

- Manage consortium banking relationships for working capital (CC/OD), term loans, ECBs, and NCD issuances.

- Negotiate credit facilities, interest rate terms, and covenant compliance with lead bankers.

- Oversee LC/BG operations, forex exposure hedging (if applicable), and FEMA compliance.

- Manage debt repayment schedules, DSCR monitoring, and lender reporting obligations.

E. Internal Controls, Audit & Risk Management

- Design and enforce a comprehensive internal financial control (IFC) framework across all units.

- Lead statutory audit coordination - preparation of audit schedules, management responses, and CARO reporting.

- Oversee internal audit planning, risk-based audit calendar, and implementation of recommendations.

- Conduct fraud risk assessments; implement anti-fraud controls at cane weighment, mill house, and dispatch points.

- Ensure compliance with ICFR requirements under Companies Act, 2013 for listed / large companies.

F. Team Leadership & Capability Building

- Lead, mentor, and develop a team of 5-15 finance professionals across accounts, taxation, and cost functions.

- Set performance goals, conduct appraisals, and build succession plans within the finance team.

- Standardise SOPs across finance workflows - vendor payments, cane payment, MIS, and audit.

- Foster a culture of accuracy, accountability, and continuous improvement in the finance function.
