About the job
Senior Manager - Land Legal with Indian renewable-energy company focused on solar, wind and hybrid solutions, responsible for end-to-end land documentation, legal due diligence, regulatory liaison, and field coordination for large-scale wind and solar projects across Karnataka.
Key Responsibilities:
Land Documentation & Due Diligence:
- Manage collection, review, and verification of land records from Tahsildar/Sub-Registrar offices.
- Prepare, review, and comment on Title Search Reports (TSR); ability to read/write Kannada & English is essential.
- Draft and execute ATS/ATL, GPA, Lease Deeds, Sale Deeds, MoUs, crop compensation agreements, POAs, and related documentation.
- Oversee non-agricultural conversion processes, including 11E sketch, blueprints, mutation, and NOC coordination.
- Conduct end-to-end document due diligence, survey verification, and maintain daily correspondence.
Legal Management:
- Stay updated on land, property, and local laws (KLR Act, Stamp & Registration Act, Forest Conservation Act).
- Handle legal issues related to land conversion, disputes, title verification, stamp duty, and registration.
- Lead legal interventions for land-related cases and coordinate with internal and external lawyers.
Field & Liaison Work:
- Liaison with government authorities (Tahsildar, Sub-Registrar, SDO, RDO, Survey Departments).
- Resolve on-ground issues via negotiation, legal action, or coordination with police authorities.
- Oversee complete site survey operations with govt. surveyors and ensure accurate boundary marking.
Non-Negotiable Skills & Abilities:
- Languages: Kannada & English (Read/Write/Speak)
- Technical: Proficiency in MS Word & Excel
- Education: LLB/LLM with strong knowledge of property & local laws
- Experience: 812 years minimum in land/legal roles
- Soft Skills: Strong communication, teamwork, adaptability, professionalism, and time management
