Senior Leadership Operations | North Karnataka
Job Location: Hubli, Karnataka
About the Company:
One of Indias leading consumer brands, the organization is currently undergoing a significant transformationfrom a footprint-led business to a more profitable, customer-centric and scalable organization.
This is an opportunity for a business leader who thrives on ownership and execution. The role is not about managing a support function or following established playbooks. It is about building and running a business, making critical trade-offs between growth and profitability, and creating a stronger, more sustainable region.
Role Overview:
As the business leader for the region, you will have end-to-end accountability for the geography, with ownership of the Annual P&L and overall business performance.
The role demands strong commercial acumen, operational rigour and the ability to make quick, data-backed decisions. Every decision will have a direct impact on growth, profitability, customer experience and the long-term health of the business.
Key Responsibilities:
1. End-to-End P&L Ownership:
- Own the Annual Operating Plan (AOP) for the region, covering growth, margins and cash discipline.
- Lead weekly and monthly business reviews with a strong focus on unit economics, cohort performance and cost levers.
- Work closely with Buying, Merchandising, Supply Chain and Marketing teams while retaining overall accountability for business outcomes.
- Identify performance gaps early and take decisive corrective actions across pricing, assortment, manpower and footprint.
2. Drive Network Expansion & Business Scale:
- Lead the expansion of the store network, covering site identification, feasibility, launch and ramp-up.
- Make informed decisions on where to expand, where to pause investments and where to strengthen existing fundamentals.
- Build the business with a marketplace mindset, with a sharp focus on network density, repeat customer behaviour and cost-to-serve.
3. Drive Operational Excellence:
- Ensure consistent execution of day-to-day operations while continuously improving operational standards.
- Monitor and act on business-critical metrics that directly influence contribution, efficiency and customer trust, rather than focusing on vanity KPIs.
- Drive a culture of continuous improvement and Kaizen, with an emphasis on simple, practical and high-impact solutions.
- Ensure strong governance, compliance and adherence to SOPs without compromising business agility.
4. Build a Customer-Centric Culture:
- Create a culture where customer pain points are clearly visible, proactively addressed and not hidden within reports.
- Work cross-functionally to improve availability, freshness, service levels and resolution turnaround time.
- Convert customer insights and feedback into actionable improvements at the store and supply-chain level.
5. Develop Strong Leadership Teams:
- Lead a large and distributed workforce across multiple cities and clusters.
- Build a strong leadership pipeline across city and store operations by identifying capability gaps early and addressing them through coaching, hiring or performance interventions.
- Establish clear objectives, conduct transparent performance reviews and build a culture of ownership and accountability.
- Foster an environment where results, integrity and speed of execution remain non-negotiable.
Ideal Candidate Profile:
This role is best suited for leaders who have:
- Managed large city, cluster or category businesses across e-commerce, quick commerce, food-tech, QSR or other scaled consumer businesses.
- Led multi-location teams and complex on-ground operations.
- Demonstrated the ability to make meaningful business decisions balancing growth and profitability.
- Worked successfully in high-pressure, ambiguous and fast-paced environments with short feedback cycles.
Only candidates from Ecommerce, FMCG/ FMCD or Retail need to apply.
What Were Looking For:
- MBA with relevant post-MBA experience in e-commerce, consumer technology, QSR or other scaled consumer businesses.
- Strong track record of P&L ownership or demonstrated P&L ownership mindset.
- Strong analytical capabilities and the ability to make data-driven business decisions.
- High energy, strong ownership orientation and willingness to travel extensively.
- Comfortable working in a 6-day operating rhythm and being deeply involved in on-ground business operations.
- A strong bias for action, execution and business building rather than a conventional desk-based role.
Why This Role Matters:
This is a business-building and transformation role, rather than a maintenance mandate.
The opportunity provides the platform to:
- Own and operate a business of meaningful scale.
- Build and develop leaders who can take the organization into its next phase of growth.
- See the direct and immediate impact of your decisions on business performance.
- Build the capabilities required to move into larger geographies, national leadership roles or larger P&L mandates.
- For leaders coming from high-growth start-ups, this offers the opportunity to experience significant scale without compromising on speed, ownership or accountability.
