Role Overview:
The Sales HR will serve as a strategic HR partner to the sales and distribution teams across regions. This role will ensure effective implementation of HR processes for the field sales workforce, drive performance, manage talent, and build a strong, engaged, and high-performing sales organization.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Talent Acquisition & Onboarding
- Partner with sales leadership to understand manpower requirements across regions.
- Lead end-to-end recruitment for sales positions - Area Sales Managers, Sales Officers, and Dealers' support roles.
- Coordinate with regional HR and recruitment agencies to ensure timely hiring.
- Manage onboarding, induction, and field orientation for new sales hires.
2. Performance Management
- Facilitate goal-setting and performance review processes for sales teams.
- Work with Sales Heads to monitor KPIs such as volume growth, dealer expansion, and target achievement.
- Support managers in identifying and managing low performers and succession planning.
3. Training & Development
- Identify capability gaps and coordinate training programs for sales effectiveness, product knowledge, and soft skills.
- Liaise with L&D to design customized interventions for the sales team.
- Track training effectiveness through post-program evaluations and performance improvements.
4. Employee Engagement & Retention
- Drive engagement initiatives and reward programs for the sales force.
- Conduct field visits and employee connects to assess engagement and morale.
- Analyze attrition trends and design retention strategies for critical talent.
5. HR Operations & Compliance
- Ensure accurate maintenance of HR data for the sales function in HRMS.
- Support payroll inputs, incentive calculations, and travel reimbursement validation.
- Ensure compliance with labor laws and company policies across all sales territories.
6. HR Analytics & Reporting
- Generate periodic dashboards on hiring, attrition, performance, and engagement metrics.
- Present insights to leadership for strategic decision-making.
Key Skills & Competencies:
- Strong understanding of sales organization dynamics and field HR practices.
- Excellent interpersonal and stakeholder management skills.
- Strong analytical and data interpretation ability.
- Ability to travel frequently to field locations.
Qualifications:
- MBA/PGDM in Human Resources or equivalent.
- 10-15 years of experience in HR, preferably in Sales HR, from Building Materials, Ceramics, or similar industries.
- Experience managing a distributed field sales workforce is highly desirable.
