Role Overview

The Financial Lead will act as a strategic finance partner to Business Unit (BU) leaders, providing end-to-end financial oversight for transformation and IT initiatives. This role is responsible for project-level financial management, agile funding enablement, accurate forecasting, and value realization tracking. The Financial Lead will bridge financial planning with execution, delivering actionable insights that enable leadership to make informed investment decisions and optimize transformation ROI.

This role partners closely with the CIO, WHQ Finance Business Partners, Digital Technology leaders, and ART-level delivery teams in a matrixed, global environment.

Key Responsibilities

1. Financial Planning & Budget Management:

- Serve as the primary finance liaison for developing bottom-up project plans for Long-Range Planning (LRP) and Annual Operating Plan cycles.

- Manage and monitor ART-level budget allocations, ensuring alignment with transformation priorities and agile funding models.

- Collaborate with WHQ Finance to track and manage actual project spend for centrally funded CSA initiatives.

2. Forecasting & Variance Analysis:

- Monitor actual project expenditures against budget and prior-year benchmarks as part of monthly close and quarterly forecast cycles.

- Analyze variances, identify key drivers, and communicate insights to finance and operational leadership.

- Prepare quarterly financial forecasts and ensure consistency and alignment with HFM systems in coordination with WHQ Finance teams.

3. Value Realization & KPI Management:

- Support the CIDTO in defining, tracking, and reporting value realization KPIs that link financial performance to transformation outcomes (e.g., delivery velocity, quote cycle time, platform adoption).

- Partner with Digital Technology BU leaders to track, forecast, and govern project spend, ensuring financial transparency and accountability.

- Contribute financial insights and analysis for leadership presentations, including Annual Operating Plans, Long-Range Plans, and Quarterly Business Reviews.

4. Strategic Enablement & Process Optimization:

- Identify and implement finance process improvements in collaboration with CSA leadership, Finance Business Partners, and WHQ stakeholders.

- Enable agile funding practices by structuring financial data to support dynamic prioritization and investment allocation.

- Provide strategic financial insights to guide transformation sequencing, investment trade-offs, and execution planning.

5. Data Analysis & Financial Systems:

- Analyze and synthesize complex financial data into clear, executive-ready insights using written, visual, and verbal communication.

- Ensure data accuracy and integrity across financial systems including HFM, SAP BI, and data warehouse platforms; leverage HFM Smart View for Excel.

- Translate raw financial data into actionable intelligence that supports transformation governance and decision-making.

Preferred Qualifications & Experience

- 12+ years of progressive experience in financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and cost management.

- Demonstrated experience supporting large-scale IT and digital transformation programs.

- Exposure to SAFe or other agile delivery frameworks.

- Experience working in matrixed, global organizations with multiple stakeholders.
