Description:
Key Responsibilities:
- Strategic Financial Leadership
- Lead the end-to-end financial strategy, planning, and control for the retail and hospitality vertical.
- Drive business profitability, cost optimization, and cash flow management across multiple business units.
- Partner with senior leadership to align financial goals with organizational growth strategies.
- Prepare and analyze annual budgets, forecasts, and long-term business plans.
- Provide financial insights to support expansion plans, new outlets, and franchise feasibility studies.
Financial Operations & Control:
- Oversee day-to-day accounting, audits, and reconciliations across all locations and business units.
- Ensure timely closure of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in compliance with statutory and company standards.
- Implement and monitor robust internal controls for inventory, cash handling, procurement, and revenue recognition.
- Supervise vendor management, AP/AR, payroll, and taxation processes.
- Establish standardized reporting systems for retail outlets and hospitality units, ensuring transparency and accuracy.
Compliance, Governance & Risk Management:
- Ensure full compliance with GST, TDS, Income Tax, and ROC regulations.
- Liaise with statutory auditors, internal auditors, and government authorities for compliance and audits.
- Mitigate business and financial risks through effective governance, insurance, and contingency planning.
- Maintain strong ethical financial practices and data integrity across all operations.
Business Analysis & Decision Support:
- Develop MIS dashboards and performance metrics for operational and financial tracking.
- Conduct profitability analysis for outlets, cost centers, and product/service lines.
- Evaluate capital expenditures, new projects, and return-on-investment (ROI) studies.
- Collaborate with operations and marketing teams to optimize pricing, promotions, and cost efficiency.
Team Leadership & Development:
- Lead, mentor, and develop the finance team across different locations.
- Build a high-performance culture focused on accountability, accuracy, and continuous improvement.
- Coordinate with cross-functional departments HR, IT, Supply Chain, and Operations for seamless financial integration.
Technical & Functional Competencies:
- Strong knowledge of Indian Accounting Standards (Ind AS) and Companies Act compliance
- Expertise in ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, Tally Prime, or similar) and advanced MS Excel / Power BI skills
- Proficiency in financial modeling, variance analysis, and cash flow forecasting
- Understanding of POS, inventory management, and revenue systems in retail/hospitality environments
- Familiarity with GST filing, tax audits, and statutory reporting
- Exposure to multi-location, multi-entity consolidation and intercompany accounting
Qualifications & Experience:
- Education: CA / CMA / MBA (Finance) from a reputed institution
- Experience: Minimum 15 years in Finance, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role within retail chains, restaurants, or hospitality
- Proven experience managing multi-unit financial operations (franchise, outlets, or hotels)
- Strong business acumen, analytical skills, and commercial understanding
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, growth-oriented environment
Preferred Attributes:
- Exposure to strategic expansion projects (new outlets, mergers, franchise rollouts)
- Experience with financial digitization and automation initiatives
