About the Role:

Reporting directly to the Head of Group Financial Control, we are looking for a hands-on and experienced finance professional to join our Global Financial Control Team. This role requires deep technical expertise in Revenue (IFRS 15) and Lease (IFRS 16) accounting, along with proven experience in managing global teams and reporting cycles.

You will lead a small team based in India while working alongside the Global team in London.

Key Responsibilities:

- Lead a small finance team in India, collaborating closely with the Global Financial Control team in London to deliver an efficient month-end close process.

- Support quarterly reporting to the Parent Group.

- Oversee and support local finance teams to ensure accurate and robust financial information is recorded in a timely manner.

- Act as a key group finance contact for local finance teams.

- Analytically review monthly P&L and balance sheets to ensure key movements are understood and correctly accounted for.

- Regularly review balance sheet reconciliations for all legal entities, ensuring reconciling items are identified and resolved promptly.

- Provide global monthly analysis and breakdowns of key accounts (e.g., other receivables/payables, accrued revenue, aged trade receivables).

- Support the review and preparation of accounting policies and ensure business-wide compliance.

- Ensure compliance with SOX regulations.

- Provide support in tax, transfer pricing, and intercompany matching as required.

- Support Group/Local statutory reporting and SOX audits.

- Lead technical accounting for Revenue (IFRS 15) and Leases (IFRS 16) across the group.

- Perform ad hoc analysis as required within the Financial Control Team.

About the Person:

Mandatory Technical Skills:

- Revenue Accounting: Working knowledge of IFRS 15 or similar GAAP; hands-on exposure to revenue recognition, deferred revenue, and contract modifications.

- Lease Accounting: Working knowledge of IFRS 16 or similar GAAP; hands-on exposure to lease identification, ROU assets, lease liabilities, and modifications.

- Other Standards: Ability to demonstrate working exposure to other technical accounting standards (e.g., IFRS 9, IFRS 2, etc.).

Experience & Qualifications:

- Qualified Chartered Accountant with 15 - 18 years of post-qualification experience in Financial Control.

- Proven experience in a hands-on finance role at operational or group level in a global company with multiple legal entities.

- Strong attention to detail and analytical mindset.

- Motivated self-starter comfortable working independently in a remote/hybrid environment.

- Strong communication skills for effective upward management and cross-border collaboration.

- Proactive with a willingness to learn and understand the numbers deeply.

- Strong focus on process and control within a financial environment.

- Excellent interpersonal skills able to build relationships and manage expectations across all management levels.

- Highly organized, proactive, and deadline-driven, able to operate in quickly changing environments.

- Excellent Excel skills and prior experience with SAP or similar ERP is desirable.
