About the Role:
We are seeking a Senior Finance Manager to join a high-performing team in a dynamic and fast-paced trading environment. The role is pivotal to managing corporate accounting and taxation functions for the India operations. You will work closely with trading, risk, and global finance teams, gaining unique insights into the commercial and operational aspects of the commodities trade.
This position is ideal for a proactive Chartered Accountant with experience in trade finance, taxation, and financial reporting, who is eager to drive process improvements and contribute strategically.
Key Responsibilities:
Corporate Accounts & Reporting:
- Lead finalization of accounts and ensure timely and accurate financial reporting.
- Manage preparation and monitoring of annual budgets and monthly tracking.
- Responsible for Flash Commentary, Hyperion reporting, and centralized controls.
Taxation & Audits:
- Lead statutory audits, tax audits, and transfer pricing audits.
- Ensure accurate and timely filing of GST returns and manage departmental GST audits.
- Handle direct tax matters, including income tax assessments and transfer pricing compliance.
Control & Compliance:
- Maintain a strong internal control environment aligned with Minimum Control Standards.
- Ensure full compliance with corporate and regulatory requirements.
- Lead or support ad-hoc financial and process improvement projects.
Business Partnering & Strategic Insight:
- Collaborate with trading teams to provide financial analysis, reporting, and insights.
- Contribute to P&L attribution and balance sheet analysis for the sugar trading vertical.
- Provide proactive recommendations for performance enhancement and cost efficiency.
Candidate Profile:
- Chartered Accountant with 2-5 years of post-qualification experience.
- Prior experience in a Big Four, bank, or trading/commodities firm is highly desirable.
- Strong knowledge and hands-on experience in GST, tax audits, and transfer pricing.
- Exposure to physical commodities trading is a strong advantage.
- Advanced proficiency in financial analysis, reporting systems, and ERP tools (e.g., Hyperion).
- Detail-oriented with excellent organizational and time-management skills.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Agile, proactive, and willing to take initiative beyond core responsibilities.
