Job Title: Senior Engineering Manager

Role Summary:

Repro is looking for a Senior Engineering Manager who combines deep technical expertise with proven leadership in large-scale software delivery. This role requires a hands-on technologist who can architect, build, and review complex systems while leading high-performing engineering teams to deliver reliable, scalable, and high-quality software.

You will own execution across multiple teams, drive engineering excellence, and partner closely with Product, Architecture, and Business leaders to turn strategy into shipped outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:

Engineering Leadership & Delivery:

- Lead multiple engineering teams responsible for end-to-end software delivery across critical platforms and products.

- Own execution, delivery predictability, and quality across programs using Agile, Scrum, or Kanban methodologies.

- Translate product and business goals into technical roadmaps, milestones, and execution plans.

- Ensure on-time, on-budget delivery while maintaining high engineering standards.

Technical Excellence & Architecture:

- Provide hands-on technical leadership in system design, architecture reviews, and complex problem solving.

- Stay actively involved in code reviews, design discussions, and critical technical decisions.

- Drive best practices in software architecture, scalability, performance, security, and reliability.

- Set and enforce engineering standards for coding, testing, CI/CD, observability, and production readiness.

Hands-On Contribution:

- Maintain strong hands-on coding ability and contribute when needed (prototyping, critical paths, debugging, design spikes).

- Guide teams through complex refactors, migrations, and modernization efforts.

- Act as a technical mentor and escalation point for challenging engineering problems.

People & Talent Leadership:

- Build, mentor, and retain high-performing engineering managers and senior engineers.

- Foster a culture of ownership, accountability, continuous learning, and engineering excellence.

- Partner with HR and leadership on hiring strategy, performance management, and succession planning.

Cross-Functional Collaboration:

- Work closely with Product Management to align on priorities, scope, and trade-offs.

- Collaborate with Architecture, DevOps, Security, and QA to ensure cohesive execution.

- Communicate clearly with senior leadership on delivery status, risks, and technical decisions.

Required Qualifications:

- 12+ years of experience in software engineering, with 5+ years in senior engineering leadership roles.

- Proven track record of delivering complex, large-scale software systems in production.

- Strong hands-on coding experience in one or more modern programming languages (e.g., Java, Python, React, MongoDB, MySQL, Dart, Django).

- Deep understanding of system design, distributed systems, APIs, databases, and cloud-native architectures.

- Experience leading teams using Agile delivery practices.

- Strong knowledge of CI/CD pipelines, DevOps practices, and production operations.

- Ability to balance technical depth with execution, people leadership, and business impact.

- Experience building SaaS or platform-based products at scale.

- Background in cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and microservices architectures.

- Experience with high-availability, high-performance, or data-intensive systems.

- Strong product mindset with the ability to make pragmatic trade-offs.
