Senior Economist Role - Economic & Sector Research

1. Macroeconomic Research and Forecasting:

- Develop the company economic outlook covering growth, inflation, interest rates, liquidity, exchange rates, consumption and investment.

- Monitor domestic and global developments, identifying their implications for the Indian economy and the NBFC sector.

- Maintain forecasts and track high-frequency indicators to identify changes in economic and credit cycles.

- Assess the implications of RBI monetary policy, the Union Budget, government programmes and major policy announcements.

2. Financial Markets and Financial-Sector Research:

- Analyse interest-rate movements, yield curves, systemic liquidity, capital flows and currency developments.

- Assess implications for the company funding costs, credit demand and business planning.

- Track banking and NBFC trends, including credit growth, deposit mobilisation, borrowing conditions, monetary transmission and competitive developments.

3. Sector and Regional Analysis:

- Prepare sector outlooks relevant to the company retail, MSME and corporate lending businesses.

- Analyse demand, capacity utilisation, margins, leverage and cash-flow trends to identify opportunities and emerging risks.

- Assess state and regional economic conditions to support geographic expansion and concentration management.

- Recommend sectors and geographies requiring closer monitoring or changes in lending approach.

4. Management Communication and Thought Leadership:

- Prepare concise economic updates, thematic research and policy-impact notes with clear business implications.

- Present insights to senior management, the Board and relevant committees.

- Deliver timely assessments of significant economic, policy and geopolitical events.

- Support approved external publications, investor discussions, industry forums and media engagements.

5. Data and Research Governance:

- Build and maintain reliable economic datasets, dashboards and forecasting tools.

- Ensure source verification, reproducible analysis and appropriate documentation.

- Review forecast performance periodically and refine research methods.
