Role: Sr. Director PMO

Location: Hyderabad

Core Responsibilities

The Senior Director of Program Management India plays a strategic leadership role, ensuring the successful planning, governance, and execution of high-value global programs delivered through company's India organization.

Reporting to the Chief PMO and partnering closely with the CEO of India, this role is central to driving operational excellence, transformation, and delivery alignment between global and India-based engineering teams. The Senior Director will define program management standards, lead large-scale delivery oversight, and ensure that all programs meet quality, cost, and schedule expectations while advancing companies long-term strategic goals.

A. Strategic Leadership

- Translate global PMO strategy into India-specific execution plans.

- Build and lead a high-performance culture emphasizing excellence, consistency, and innovation.

- Drive transformation improve systems, processes, and people capability.

- Develop training, mentoring, and succession for program management talent.

- Work cross-functionally with engineering, product, operations, and customer teams.

B. Program Oversight

- Oversee multiple large programs simultaneously.

- Ensure all programs are delivered on time, on budget, within scope.

- Lead monthly program reviews and red program interventions when issues arise.

- Proactively identify and mitigate risks.

C. Resource Management

- Create a resource operating model decide how people, tools, and budget are allocated across programs.

- Recruit, coach, and develop program managers and PMO staff.

- Align India PM capacity with global program priorities.

D. Governance & Compliance

- Set up a world-class governance model with clear standards, documentation, and dashboards.

- Ensure adherence to regulatory, contractual, and enterprise standards.

- Monitor financial performance of programs and ensure transparency in reporting.

E. Communication & Reporting

- Present program health, risks, and outcomes to executive leadership.

- Communicate across global and India teams with clarity.

- Prepare regular executive dashboards and presentations for leadership and customers.

Requirement:

- Bachelors degree in Business, Engineering, or a related field; Masters or MBA preferred.

- PMP certification required; PgMP or MSP certification is a strong advantage.

- 15+ years of experience in program and project management, with at least 5 years in a senior global leadership role.

- Proven experience managing multi-country, multimillion-dollar programs (>$500M), ideally within transportation, infrastructure, or regulated industries.

- Deep understanding of program management principles, governance, risk management, and delivery assurance.

- Exceptional communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence at executive levels.

- Demonstrated experience driving transformation initiatives and implementing PMO frameworks at scale.

- Strong financial acumen, with experience managing program budgets, forecasts, and profitability metrics.

- Experience working in complex, matrixed global organizations; cultural adaptability is essential.

- Willingness to travel domestically and internationally as business requires.
