Role Overview:
- We are looking for a Sr. Director - Business Product to lead the product strategy, execution, and growth for our Consumer Lending portfolio. This role will own the end-to-end product lifecycle across customer journeys, credit policy alignment, underwriting experience, pricing, risk controls, and portfolio growth.
- You will work at the intersection of Business, Risk, Credit, Compliance, Data Science, Engineering, Operations, and Partnerships to scale lending products while ensuring strong unit economics, regulatory compliance, and best-in-class customer experience.
Key Responsibilities:
1) Product Strategy & Business Ownership:
- Own the product roadmap for consumer lending products such as Personal Loans, Consumer Durable Loans, BNPL, Credit Line, EMI products, and other retail credit offerings.
- Drive business outcomes including disbursals, conversion, approval rates, customer retention, and portfolio quality.
- Define product vision and build a scalable product strategy aligned with business goals and regulatory requirements.
2) Lending Journey & Funnel Optimization:
Design and optimize the full lending journey: acquisition - eligibility - underwriting - offer - disbursal - repayment - collections
Improve key funnel metrics such as:
- eligibility-to-approval conversion
- approval-to-disbursal conversion
- drop-off reduction
- repeat usage / renewal
- Build frictionless customer experiences without compromising risk controls.
3) Credit Policy & Risk Collaboration:
Partner with Credit and Risk teams to implement:
- credit policy changes
- underwriting rules
- scorecards / rule engines
- fraud and risk triggers
- Drive balance between growth and portfolio quality.
- Own governance for product-level risk controls and monitoring.
4) Pricing, Offers & Unit Economics:
Own product pricing frameworks including:
- interest rates
- processing fees
- tenure structures
- risk-based pricing
Work closely with Finance to manage:
- unit economics
- CAC vs LTV
- profitability by cohort
- cost-to-serve improvements
5) Product Execution & Cross-functional Leadership:
- Translate business requirements into product specs, PRDs, and user stories.
- Lead cross-functional execution with Engineering, Design, QA, and Ops teams.
- Drive timely delivery with strong focus on quality, scalability, and compliance.
6) Portfolio & Performance Monitoring:
- Own portfolio health dashboards and tracking:
- delinquency (DPD buckets)
- bounce rates
- early risk signals
- roll rates
- NPA trends
- Identify risk patterns and take corrective actions through product changes.
7) Regulatory & Compliance Alignment:
- Ensure compliance with RBI / NBFC / lending regulations and best practices.
Partner with Legal and Compliance to ensure:
- fair practices
- disclosure requirements
- customer consent flows
- data privacy and security compliance
8) Partnerships & Ecosystem Growth (Optional but preferred):
Build and manage partnerships for embedded lending / distribution:
- e-commerce
- marketplaces
- D2C brands
- offline merchants
- Lead integration strategy and partner onboarding from product perspective.
