Position Title: Senior Derivatives Trader

Location: Nariman Point, Mumbai

Job Summary: Seeking an experienced Senior Equity Derivatives Trader to enhance portfolio returns through disciplined use of equity derivatives across individual stocks and indices. The role combines fundamental investing with derivatives expertise to identify high-conviction, delta-based opportunities, generate incremental yield, improve capital efficiency, and manage portfolio risk. Beyond executing existing strategies, the successful candidate will continuously research, develop, and implement innovative derivatives strategies that create sustainable alpha while remaining aligned with our long-term investment philosophy.

Key Responsibilities:

- Research and propose innovative delta-based strategies that generate incremental returns across varying market environments.

- Execute and actively manage covered call strategies on existing portfolio holdings to generate consistent premium income.

- Identify opportunities to write cash-secured puts on fundamentally attractive businesses where we are comfortable owning the underlying if assigned.

- Continuously source stock-specific and index-level derivatives opportunities based on valuation, market structure, volatility, macro events, and positioning.

- Identify periods where implied volatility materially diverges from expected realized volatility and recommend strategies to monetize these dislocations.

- Back-test and evaluate new derivatives strategies before implementation.

- Develop and recommend new portfolio enhancement strategies, including:

1. Buy futures / sell covered calls (capital-efficient equity replacement)

2. Collar strategies

3. Protective hedges

4. Synthetic long and short positions

5. Event-driven option strategies around earnings, corporate actions, MSCI rebalances, and special situations

6. Dispersion and relative-value opportunities where appropriate Volatility harvesting strategies

Qualifications:

- Education: Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field. Professional qualifications such as CA, CFA, or CMT are preferred.

- Experience: 7 - 15 years of experience trading or managing equity derivatives in Indian markets.

Skills:

- Demonstrated ability to generate alpha through options and futures strategies rather than simply executing client orders.

- Strong understanding of option pricing.

- Experience developing, back-testing, and implementing new derivatives strategies.

- Solid understanding of equity valuation and company fundamentals, with the ability to integrate investment research into derivatives decisions.
