Role Overview:
As the Sr Category Manager, you will be responsible for driving the growth and profitability of assigned product categories within the FMCG sector. You will collaborate closely with sales, marketing, and supply chain teams to develop and execute category strategies that align with overall business objectives. This role demands a strong understanding of consumer behavior, market trends, and competitive landscape to identify opportunities and maximize category performance. Your insights will directly influence product development, pricing, promotion, and distribution strategies, ultimately impacting market share and revenue growth.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement comprehensive category strategies to achieve sales, market share, and profitability targets for assigned product categories.
- Analyze market trends, consumer insights, and competitive activity to identify growth opportunities and inform category plans.
- Collaborate with the sales team to develop and execute effective trade marketing programs that drive sales and enhance brand visibility at the point of sale.
- Work closely with the supply chain team to ensure optimal inventory levels and efficient product distribution to meet customer demand.
- Manage the product lifecycle, including new product launches, product rationalization, and packaging updates.
- Monitor category performance, track key metrics, and provide regular reports to management on progress against goals.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers and stakeholders to negotiate favorable terms and ensure product quality.
- Conduct regular market visits to understand consumer behavior, competitive activity, and trade execution.
Required Skillset:
- Demonstrated ability to develop and execute successful category management strategies within the FMCG industry.
- Proven analytical skills with the ability to interpret market data, consumer insights, and financial reports.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams and external partners.
- Strong negotiation and influencing skills to secure favorable terms with suppliers and stakeholders.
- A Bachelor's/PG degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and adapt to changing market conditions.
