Senior Business Analyst - Security Trading/Asset Transfers & Funds

Position Purpose:

Within the Wealth Management IT Hub Ops Division, the Senior Business Analyst (SBA) will lead the business analysis activities related to their area of expertise (TEMENOS T24/TRANSACT), covering the scope of International Wealth Management activity in Europe and in Asia. The Security Trading, Asset Transfers and Funds Business Analyst is responsible for gathering, analysing, documenting business requirements for Security Trading/Asset Transfers/Funds Management functionality across:

- Securities Trading (equities, bonds, funds, structured products)

- Positions Management

- Instrument & Product Setup designing and supporting the implementation of Derivatives and Structured Products functionality within the Temenos Transact (T24) core banking system.

The main missions of the SBA will be to:

- Acts as a key conduit between Front Office, Operations, Finance, Compliance and Tax, focusing on STP, process efficiency and recommendation of industry practices.

- Experienced in driving PLWs and able to advise new processes for new Transact applications, preferably with implementation experience.

- Gathers and documents Transact-focused requirements and translate operational/business needs into functional specifications. Experience in writing a BRD/FSD is a MUST.

- Analyses gaps in functionality and processes across European and Asian sites and proposing solutions to converge and align them into a common design, respecting WMIS standards and allowing for mutualization / reuse as much as possible between sites.

- Ensures all requirements are approached from a global perspective for all sites. Specific solution should only be considered to address regulatory, tax or accounting specific requirements.

- Provides SME support for Security Trading/Asset Transfers/Funds Management (in line with market standards and regulatory requirements), Trade Capture from Front Office and booking of equities, bonds, funds and structured products

- Support configuration of Securities Instruments (ISIN, CFI, market attributes), trading products and deal types, market conventions (settlement cycles, holidays, cut-offs)

- Ensure accurate handling of Trade Date vs. Settlement Date, Buy/Sell indicators, Price, Yield and Nominal calculations

- Trade Validation & Enrichment: Define validation rules for Instrument Eligibility, Account and Portfolio Checks, Trading limits and Restrictions.

- Support enrichment of trades with broker details, settlement instructions and fees and charges.

- Positions & Holdings Management - Ensure real-time and end-of-day updates to Securities Positions and Holding Balances

- Validate correct handling of Long/Short Positions and Blocked and Pending Quantities

- Support reconciliation between trading, accounting and custody positions

- Settlement & Post-Trade Processing - Analyse settlement workflows for DVP/FOP Trades and Internal vs. External Settlements

- Support configuration of Settlement Instructions (SSI) and Counterparty and Custodian Setup

- Ensure accurate processing of Cash Movements and Accruals, Fees and Taxes

- Support SWIFT Messaging (MT54X)

- FX & Cash Handling - Define requirements for FX Deal Generation from Securities Trades and Multi-currency settlement handling

- Ensure correct postings of cash legs and FX Revaluation

- Funds Grouping - Support the configuration for Transact - Funds Grouping (Grouping Criteria, Cut-off time, communications to external TAs via MX messages)

- Funds Settlement - Receipt of NAV and settlement processing steps

- Asset Transfers - Support the configuration for Transact Security.Transfer application for the management of internal, incoming and outgoing transfers (either DVP or FOP capabilities)

- Asset settlement - ensure correct posting of securities positions and cash management (where applicable)

- Fees, Charges & Taxes - Define and support the configuration of Brokerage Fees, Market Charges and Withholding Tax rules.

- Validate correct calculation and posting at Trade Booking and Settlement

- Support Tax Reporting and Audit Requirements

- Static Data & Reference Data - Support maintenance of Instruments and Markets, Brokers/Custodians and Depositories and Standing Settlement Instructions (SSIs)

- Ensure data consistency across trading, settlement and accounting modules.

- Support interfaces with Order Management and execution platforms, Custodians and Clearing Systems

- Collaborate with our Vendor (Temenos) and/or Integrator for the implementation project, and enable our internal team to acquire knowledge and deep expertise on Temenos Transact product.

- Contribute with/without our Integrator to the definition of use cases for Integration tests with testing team and for User Acceptance Test with end users

The SBA will be the privileged contact for user representatives during the analysis and project phases, and will be responsible for all standard business analysis tasks such as:

- Preliminary studies and analysis (including leading user workshops)

- Cost estimation and planning elaboration and follow-up

- Organize and run dedicated meetings or committees, as required

- Identify and report on project risks, attention points and issues to follow-up

- Requirements and general functional specifications (GFS): Coordination of workshops, minutes, writing GFS, Review and validation with Sponsors, Presentation and support to Dev Team, etc

- Coordinate with all teams, from same division or other divisions, working on the same project

- Plan the migration strategy and change management activities related to these new projects

- Coordinate, supervise and contribute to Users Acceptance Tests (UAT) related to new implementations and support user sign-offs.

- Ensure the good relationship with business sponsors and stakeholders on each location

- Support production deployment activities, data migration and user training.

Responsibilities and skills required:

- Strong knowledge of Transact Modules

- Securities Trading, Instrument & Product Definition, Transaction Lifecycle Services, Rules & Validation Framework, Static Data Services, Positions Management Service, Securities Accounting (Event-driven posting), Settlement & Clearing Services, SSI & Counterparty Management, Counterparty & Market Data Services, Cash Management Services, FX Deal Generation Services, Charges & Commissions Engine and Tax Services.

- In-depth experience with Temenos Transact (T24) - especially modules such as SECURITY.MASTER, Security Trading, Security Life-cycle Management, Settlements & Clearing Services, SSI & Counterparty Management, Charges & Commission and tax services.,

- Strong knowledge of Securities Trading Lifecycle

- Strong knowledge of SWIFT MT564-566 and/or ISO 20022 messages and how these messages can drive STP processing of Securities Trading/Asset Transfers/Funds Execution & Settlement in Transact.

- Prior working experience of Transact Funds Grouping Capability and Settlement Processing /integration with Execution Systems like Contineo and Aladdin/ Confirmation Trading Matching (CTM) Systems will be advantageous

- Working experience of Securities Trading/Asset Transfers and Funds Management using Transact Shared Services will be advantageous.

- Experience producing BRDs/FRDs/Functional Specifications - through interviews, document analysis, requirement workshops with business users, business process descriptions, use cases, scenarios and workflow analysis.

- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to challenge business/technical requirements to build good and scalable solutions.

- Product management skills required, including a thorough understanding of how to interpret customer business needs and translate them into application and operational requirements.

- Hands-on UAT and production support experience

- Understanding of STP flows and system integrations (CFT, MQ, KAFKA flows) will be advantageous

- Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group, managers, subject matter experts and technical teams.

- Develop requirements specifications according to standard templates & methodology

- Collaborate with the team's experts to establish the technical vision and analyze tradeoffs between usability and performance needs.

- Be the liaison between the business units, technology teams and support teams.

Technical & Behavioral Competencies

Technical skills :

- At least 7 years of experience in Banking Industry, as a Business Analyst and/or as a "hands-on" Project Manager

- Expert knowledge and experience on TEMENOS T24/TRANSACT Core Banking platform for Wealth Management, understand the various flows and functions, familiar with system parameterization and configuration, specifically in the area of Temenos Transact Security Trading/Funds Managements/Fees Modules (including Withholding taxes, Fees setup, accounting and regulatory reporting impacts, etc) - Mandatory

- Proficiency in User Acceptance Testing (UAT), Functional & System Integration testing of banking and financial applications.

- Fluent in investigation and testing techniques (Data Analysis, SQL, API, etc)

Soft skills:

- Excellent communication skills in English, both oral and written.

- Strong proficiency with Powerpoint, Excel, Word, Visio

Nice to have:

- Working experience of SDLC and Agile Methodologies like SCRUM and KANBAN is a plus.

- Familiar with project management tools as well as issue and release management, production and support (JIRA, Confluence, Sharepoint, etc)
