Job Title: Senior Basel Compliance Specialist

BU: Risk

Location: BKC Mumbai

Position Purpose

Serve as a team contributor and independent specialist providing strong analytical support to the Bank's Basel Compliance function in line with the Regulatory Policy and Framework. The role supports Capital Adequacy computation, ICAAP activities including Stress Testing, and the preparation of Pillar III Regulatory Disclosures.

Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities

1. Compute Credit Risk- Weighted Assets (CRWA) for the Bank at an enterprise level.

- Run, maintain, and update rules within the Credit RWA engine to ensure accurate and consistent outputs.

- Support all CAPAD- related activities in coordination with the Team Lead.

- Perform monthly system runs, validate model parameter values, and ensure alignment with extant regulatory guidelines.

- Identify and escalate discrepancies in data, parameters, or system behavior, ensuring timely resolution.

2. Support preparation of the ICAAP document annually, covering all material risks faced by the Bank, and conduct quarterly ICAAP reviews.

- Perform Stress Testing as per RBI- prescribed scenarios and internal plausible scenarios.

- Analyse and evaluate the impact of stress scenarios on the Bank's capital adequacy, ensuring alignment with regulatory expectations and internal risk appetite.

3. Co-ordination and preparation of Pillar III Regulatory Disclosures on a quarterly basis.

4. External Rating related activities

- Coordinate and compile external rating rationales on a regular basis by engaging with relevant internal teams.

- Prepare external rating analysis for senior management, providing key insights for decision- making.

- Manage the submission of external ratings for regulatory, compliance, and business requirements, ensuring accuracy and timely delivery.

5. Preparation and filing of Return on Capital Adequacy (RCA3) and Leverage Ratio to RBI on a quarterly basis

6. Compute RBS data points and prepare monthly or on- demand dashboards for Management reporting (CMRC, RMC, and adhoc) in co-ordination with relevant teams.

- Prepare, update, and periodically review Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for all functional areas to ensure process consistency and strong governance.

7. Ensure robust adherence to internal controls and manage audit requirements across RBI/Compliance, Internal Audit, and Statutory Audit. Lead timely resolution of issues, including data gaps, control deficiencies, and audit findings.

8. Mentor team members on Basel concepts, regulatory standards, and best practices to strengthen technical capability and ensure high- quality compliance outputs.

9. Ensure risk processes and systems align with business needs while driving data and process- improvement initiatives that boost efficiency and support the Bank's strategic growth. Lead these projects end- to- end to successful closure.

10. Support system upgrades, data remediation, and process automation initiatives. Conduct impact assessments for new regulatory rules or reporting templates.

Experience

- Essential Experience in Banking, preferably within Basel functions or Risk Management, with strong exposure to regulatory capital processes, risk frameworks, and related controls; Refer skill set

Technical & Functional

- Strong technical knowledge of capital regulations, supported by excellent data and analytical skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across cross- functional teams.

- In- depth understanding of the Basel III framework, including Pillar I, Pillar II, and Pillar III requirements.

- Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word) is essential for analysis and reporting.

- Knowledge of Python/SAS and other analytical tools is preferred and considered an added advantage.
