JOB DESCRIPTION:
Role Title: Venture Capital - Senior Associate
Employee: Interviewed
Reports TO: Deal Captains
Function/Department: Investments
1. JOB PURPOSE

To support our investment team across the entire deal lifecycle from origination to execution.
PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES
Points below are indicative and not exhaustive
- The candidate will support the Deal Captains in the areas of deal sourcing, deals review, having detailed discussions with Founders and CXOs of the potential investee Companies, develop and vet financial models, prepare IC decks, make presentations to the IC, run the entire due diligence process including customer and investor diligence, and deal negotiations and deal documentation.
- The candidate will support in data gathering, market sizing, market and company research, review databases and gather data, company assessment and pre-diligence, competition benchmarking, etc.
- The candidate will support deal documentation activities including review agreements, identify changes required and get them drafted and complete documentation before deadlines. This will include, but not limited to, reports, agreements, amendments and other such documents.
- The candidate will support in post investment tracking of the investee Companies - financials, key events, operations, corporate actions, Exit, etc.
- The candidate will also assist in detailed market and industry research on areas where Team wishes to focus on and identify deals to invest in.
- The candidate will support the Team on any work related to the business including but not limited to presentations, operations, etc.
- Developing presentations for IC deck, LRS, market scope, research, etc. as appropriate. This will include deep research, analysis, making PPTs, Word and PDF, etc. and other documents.

- Deal Management: Will work on multiple deals simultaneously and must be able execute all activities relating to the Business as mentioned in this JD.

DECISIONS
i) Develop views on market/industry trends and business impacts and opportunities for the Business.
ii) Develop views on Companies assessed and run entire deal process for investable Companies.
INTERACTIONS
External Clients:
- Investment Bankers, Venture Capitalists, Family Offices, PE Investors, Angel investors, Target Company representatives, Lawyers, Due Diligence Advisors, etc.
DIMENSIONS
Financial Dimensions:
- Support on a minimum for 4 deals at any given time and produce deliverables
Other Dimensions:
- Support work relating to the Business - AOP, LRS, Monthly Review Presentations, Operations, etc.
SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE:
Educational Qualifications:
a) Qualifications:
- MBA from a reputed Business School with a strong background in finance, accounting and entrepreneurship.
- Preferable to have either a Bachelors Degree in Engineering from a reputed University or Chartered Accountant.
b) Work Experience:
- Minimum 5 years experience in Investment Banking on the M&A and Financial Sponsors side and
- Minimum 5 years experience in Venture Capital Investing - a minimum of 10 deals in a significant capacity reporting to a PE/VC Partner or Deal Captain.
Skills and abilities:
- Strong oral and written communication skills - experience in PPT, MS Word, PDF, ChatGPT, etc.
- Should be flexible, available and adaptable - key for success in the role.
- Should be wiling to work on weekends and public holidays when schedules require it - to close deals or meet other deliverables.
- Should be wiling to travel at short notice - by road, rail or air.
- Should be able to consistently put in long working hours.
