Description:
One of our leading clients in the rapidly growing international not-for-profit organisation with a mission to reduce the impacts of climate change through policy reform in the buildings sector. Having been operating as a global think-tank in buildings and climate policy for nearly ten years, we are now transitioning to a social enterprise working in the field to reform policy, principally in India and Indonesia. We therefore need to innovate many of our program and operations management, and collaboration approaches to suit a decentralised network aiming to achieve policy reforms that lead to measurable abatement of emissions, increased health and employment in a sustainable buildings sector.
To continue on this trajectory, were searching for an the Senior Associate-Finance for Role of Global Accountant who shall be taking care of Accounting, Invoice Processing, Payment processing, Month end closing, Statutory compliances and System & Process improvements for entities set up in multiple Countries, initially France, Indonesia and India.
Scope of Work:
Major responsibilities- Job Description:
1) Bookkeeping & Accounting:
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date general ledgers for global entities.
- Record financial transactions in accordance with local and international accounting standards (IFRS/US GAAP/Indian GAAP, French GAAP/etc.).
- Reconcile bank, credit card, and intercompany accounts monthly.
- Handle accounts payable and receivable, including multi-currency transactions.
- Manage expense reports, vendor invoices, and employee reimbursements.
2) Invoice Processing & Payment - online banking:
- Process and verify invoices and team members expense claims accurately and timely, ensuring appropriate approvals and coding.
- Schedule and process vendor payments via bank transfers,, or digital platforms in adherence to internal policies, procedure and approval matrix.
- Ensure compliance with payment terms and internal SLAs
3) Month-End, Quarter end and Year-End Closures:
- Assist in the preparation and execution of monthly, quarterly, and annual closing processes.
- Prepare journal entries, accruals, and prepayments.
- Ensure timely consolidation of financials across all geographies.
4) Compliance & Regulatory Reporting:
- Ensure compliance with statutory requirements in various jurisdictions (GST/VAT, TDS/WHT, etc.).
- Assist with preparation of GST return filings and liaise with external accountants or auditors.
- Maintain documentation for audits and coordinate audit schedules globally.
5) Systems & Process Improvement:
- Work with cloud-based accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks Zoho Books etc).
- Recommend and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and control.
- Support integration of finance systems across global operations.
- Coordinate regular training with Finance manager for local finance focal points in liaison with country teams, and outsourced firms.
- Coordinate with IT and suppliers to ensure smooth implementation of new functionalities.
Any administrative duties:
- Check Zoho-Expense receipts against Consultant or employees expenses claim submissions, match receipts to claims, and verify compliance with expense policies.
- Ensure accurate documentation of expenses and proper filing.
- Helps maintain platforms, systems, filing and repository of documents up to date in the G-Drive and Dropbox.
Relationships:
- Work Closely with Finance Manager (leading the Finance department) and other Shared-Services Team Members and supports CAO/COO as needed
- Communicate and coordinate with other departments or Heads, GloCal Management Group (GMG), CEO and other stakeholders within the organization.
- Liaison with technical team, project managers, internal consultants as well as the various country offices teams and Finance-focal points
Skills and Qualifications:
- Masters degree in accounting, Finance, or related field
- 78 years of relevant accounting/bookkeeping experience with exposure to international operations.
- Deep Knowledge of Statutory Compliances of India e.g. Income tax, TDS, GST etc
- Knowledge of international accounting standards (IFRS, US GAAP, Indian GAAP, French GAAP etc.).
- Excellent command of written and spoken English (working language)
- Experience working with global teams and multi-currency transactions.
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to meet deadlines.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills and ability to collaborate across time zones.
Preferred Qualities:
- Deep Knowledge of technical -Financial Concept
- High level of professionalism and an analytical mindExperience working with global teams, multiple geographies, and multi-currency transactions.
- Consulting or NGO experience with excellent adaptation skills and stress-resilience in a dynamic working environment Nimble, self-motivated and results oriented with a focus on developing creative solutions
