Senior Analyst - Private Fund - Fund Accounting - CA

Job Title: Senior Analyst - Private Funds (Fund Accounting)

Location: Mumbai

Experience: CA with 5.5+ years (max 4 CA attempts)

Position Summary:

We are looking for a Senior Analyst to join the Private Funds Finance team within our Private Equity group. This role will report to the Manager - Private Funds, India, and will be responsible for financial reporting, performance measurement, valuations, capital calls/distributions, and investor relations.

Key Responsibilities:

- Review and assist in preparing private fund and LP reports, including trial balances, consolidated US GAAP financial statements, and investor capital statements.

- Assist in preparing capital call and distribution notices.

- Support IFRS-based consolidated financial statements for publicly traded entities (BBU/BN) related to private funds.

- Review fund performance metrics (gross/net IRR, management fees, carried interest).

- Lead resolution of complex technical accounting issues, coordinating with auditors, fund administrators, and operating platforms.

- Assist in fund operations including compliance, controls, and treasury management.

- Prepare analysis and reports for senior management to support business decisions.

- Respond to investor requests related to fund financials and reporting.

- Guide and coach the fund administration team.

- Handle ad-hoc analyses and special projects.

Qualifications:

Must-Have:

- Chartered Accountant (CA) with 5.5+ years of experience in corporate accounting or audit firms.

- Max 4 attempts in CA.

- Strong experience in fund accounting for private equity.

- Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with changing priorities.

- Excellent communication skills (oral and written).

- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.

- Self-motivated and proactive.

Nice to Have:

- US GAAP Investment Company accounting.

- Carried interest / performance fee calculations.

- Experience with complex legal structures.

- Prior exposure to onshore teams and fund administrators.
