Position: Senior Accounts Manager
Experience: 5-6 Years (including 2+ years in similar responsibilities)
Job Summary
We are seeking a Senior Accounts Manager with 5-6 years of experience, including at least 2 years in a similar role. The ideal candidate will be a highly capable professional responsible for overseeing the full cycle of bookkeeping and accounting activities, from ledger management to financial reporting. This role requires a blend of technical accounting expertise, strong client relationship management skills, and a proactive approach to process improvement. You will be a key leader, mentoring junior colleagues, ensuring compliance with SLAs and regulations, and identifying opportunities for business growth.
Key Responsibilities
Accounting and Financial Management:
- Manage and execute full-cycle bookkeeping and accounting activities.
- Handle month-end and year-end processes, including the finalization of ledgers, preparation of P&L statements, and Balance Sheets.
- Ensure all accounting activities comply with service level agreements (SLAs) and regulatory requirements.
- Assist with collections, receivables management, and ensure accurate and timely billing to prevent revenue leakage.
Client Relationship & Communication:
- Build and maintain strong, effective relationships with clients to understand and support their accounting needs.
- Conduct periodic service review calls (weekly, monthly, quarterly) and promptly respond to
and resolve client escalations.
- Identify and pursue opportunities for up-selling and cross-selling additional services.
- Manage day-to-day communication with internal teams, clients, auditors, and other external stakeholders.
Team Leadership & Process Improvement:
- Coach, train, and mentor team members to enhance productivity and performance.
- Create and regularly update Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and process documentation.
- Champion process improvements, ensuring optimal use of accounting systems to meet margin and productivity goals.
- Support client transitions and implement process changes effectively with minimal client disruption.
- Report and resolve any compliance issues and assist in pre-sales activities to drive business growth.
Required Skills & Qualifications
Core Experience:
- 5-6 years of relevant accounting experience, with at least 2 years of experience handling
similar responsibilities.
- Proven experience in end-to-end accounting processes and month-end finalization.
Technical Proficiency:
- Strong proficiency in advanced Excel functions and tools.
- Proficiency with various accounting software and ERP systems.
Professional Attributes:
- A Bachelors degree in Commerce (B.Com) or equivalent.
- CA/CMA/CWA/M.Com/MBA is preferred.
- Experience working with international clients.
- Excellent communication, problem-solving, and leadership skills.
- The ability to work within a BPO/KPO/ITES or within accounting functions of foreign company subsidiaries.
