Role Overview

We are looking for a Chartered Accountant (CA) with 2-4 years of post-qualification experience in the BPO/Shared Services industry, supporting US-based clients. The SME - CA will be responsible for overseeing and executing core finance and accounting processes including month-end close, reconciliations, financial reporting, and client communication. This role serves as the functional expert and quality gatekeeper, ensuring accurate and timely financial deliverables.

Key Responsibilities

1. Month-End Close & Financial Reporting

- Support and execute the end-to-end month-close process for US clients.

- Prepare and review journal entries, accruals, and recurring entries.

- Perform detailed reviews of P&L and Balance Sheet accounts.

- Assist in preparation and validation of financial statements in accordance with US GAAP.

- Analyze financial results and provide commentary for variances.

- Prepare and review reconciliations for high-risk accounts including cash, intercompany, fixed assets, and accruals.

2. Reconciliations & Analysis

- Prepare and review reconciliations for high-risk accounts including cash, intercompany, fixed assets, and accruals.

- Investigate and resolve open items or discrepancies in a timely manner.

- Support balance sheet reviews with client or internal controllers.

3. Client Communication & Support

- Act as the go-to accounting SME for assigned US-based clients.

- Attend scheduled client meetings to review deliverables, resolve issues, and gather feedback.

- Translate US accounting requirements into clear, executable processes for the offshore team.

4. Process Expertise & Quality Control

- Provide technical guidance to junior team members on accounting treatments and US GAAP.

- Ensure adherence to SLAs, accuracy benchmarks, and internal control procedures.

- Recommend and support implementation of process improvements and automation where feasible.

5. Audit & Compliance

- Assist in internal and external audits by preparing schedules, supporting documentation, and responding to auditor queries.

- Ensure compliance with SOX/internal control frameworks as applicable.

Required Qualifications & Skills

- Chartered Accountant (CA) - Qualified with 2-4 years of post-qualification experience.

- Experience working in a BPO or Shared Services environment supporting US clients is mandatory.

- Strong understanding of US GAAP, month-end close processes, and financial reporting.

- Hands-on experience with reconciliations, journal entries, and variance analysis.

- Intermediate to advanced Excel skills; experience with ERP systems such as NetSuite, Oracle, or SAP preferred.

- Strong communication skills - both written and verbal.

- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.

- Proactive mindset with strong problem-solving and critical thinking abilities.

Good to Have

- Exposure to restaurant or retail industry clients.

- Experience working with multi-entity accounting or consolidations.

- Familiarity with tools such as Blackline, Adaptive Insights, or Tableau is a plus.
