About the Role:
We are seeking a highly experienced and strategic Senior Account Manager - SEO to join our team.
The primary purpose of this role is to define and drive the SEO strategy for a portfolio of assigned clients, taking into account their specific business characteristics, market context, and overarching marketing/communication goals.
You will be responsible for establishing strong synergies between SEO and other digital and traditional marketing channels to ensure maximum effectiveness and client success.
This is a critical client-facing role that blends strategic leadership with hands-on account execution.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Account Leadership:
- Develop and Own Strategy: In close partnership with the client and the SEO Director, define the comprehensive, data-driven SEO strategy for each assigned account.
- This includes technical SEO, content strategy, and authority building (link acquisition).
- Accountability for KPIs: Be fully accountable for the execution of the defined strategy and the achievement of all agreed-upon Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), such as organic traffic growth, keyword rankings, conversion rates, and revenue targets.
- Growth Opportunities: Proactively identify and plan account growth opportunities, working closely with Account Directors to develop business proposals, upsell SEO services, and expand the scope of work.
Client Management & Communication:
- Primary SME Contact: Serve as the primary, day-to-day Subject Matter Expert (SME) voice to the client.
- Clearly articulate complex SEO concepts, strategies, and performance results to diverse client stakeholders.
- Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong, trusted, and long-lasting relationships with client contacts at various levels.
- Meeting Leadership: Lead regular client meetings, including strategic planning sessions, performance reviews, and technical discussions.
Execution Management & Delivery:
- Project & Budget Oversight: Ensure all SEO deliverables are met on time and within budget.
- Manage internal resources and priorities to maintain a high standard of quality across all projects.
- Campaign Efficiency: Own and manage the client strategy and plans, continuously seeking ways to improve key campaign efficiencies and effectiveness.
- Cross-Channel Collaboration: Build strong relationships and foster seamless collaboration with internal teams across Client Services, Paid Media, Content, Development, and other channel teams to ensure an integrated marketing approach.
- Reporting: Oversee the creation and presentation of insightful, actionable performance reports that clearly communicate the value and ROI of SEO efforts.
Requirements:
Educational Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business, Communications, or a related field.
- A Master's degree or relevant professional certifications (e.g, in Google Analytics, SEO tools) is a plus.
Professional Experience:
- Minimum 5+ years of progressive experience in Search Engine Optimization, with at least 2-3 years in a dedicated client-facing Account Management or Senior Strategist role, managing large or complex enterprise-level SEO accounts.
- Proven track record of defining and executing successful, measurable SEO strategies across various industries and business models (e.g , e-commerce, B2B, publishing).
Deep expertise in all facets of SEO, including:
- Technical SEO: Site architecture, indexation, crawl budget, Core Web Vitals, schema markup, etc.
- Content Strategy: Keyword research, topic clusters, content gap analysis, and on-page optimization.
- Off-Page SEO: Link building strategy, competitive analysis, and digital PR.
- Proficiency with industry-leading SEO tools (e.g , Google Analytics 4, Google Search Console, Screaming Frog, Ahrefs, SEMrush, Moz, DeepCrawl).
Skills & Competencies:
- Exceptional Communication: Superior verbal and written communication skills with the ability to present complex data and strategies simply and convincingly to executive-level client contacts.
- Strategic Thinking: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to turn data into clear, actionable strategies.
- Leadership & Influence: Demonstrated ability to lead projects, influence internal and external stakeholders, and manage diverse deliverables simultaneously.
- Financial Acumen: Experience managing account budgets, scope of work, and identifying opportunities for client account growth
