Senior Accounts Director Insurance
Overview:
The Senior Accounts Director - Insurance leads high-value client relationships, drives strategic account growth, and oversees delivery of insurance solutions across underwriting, claims, operations, and affinity programs leveraging digital technology. This role is responsible for managing a large renewal book, revenue expansion, client satisfaction, and cross-functional leadership.
Key Responsibilities:
- Managed senior-level client relationships across key insurance accounts
- Develop and execute multi-year account strategies focused on growth, retention, and profitability
- Lead cross-functional teams to deliver solutions in underwriting, claims, policy administration, analytics, compliance, and customer experience
- Identify and pursue upsell and cross-sell opportunities across products, services, and digital offerings
- Act as a trusted advisor to client executives on business transformation, regulatory shifts, risk trends, and market strategy
- Oversee financial performance of accounts including forecasting, budgeting, and margin management
- Lead contract negotiations, renewals, and high-stakes issue resolution
- Ensure delivery excellence and alignment with SLAs, KPIs, and governance frameworks
- Collaborate with product, operations, analytics, legal, and executive leadership to support account goals
Required Qualifications:
- 10+ years of experience in insurance account management, consulting, or enterprise client leadership
- Deep understanding of P&C, life, or health insurance operations, underwriting, claims, distribution, and regulatory environments
- Proven success leading multi-million-dollar accounts or portfolios
- Strong negotiation, executive communication, and relationship-building skills
- Experience working with digital platforms, data analytics, automation, or insurance-tech solutions
- Ability to manage complex programs and cross-functional teams
Preferred Qualifications:
- MBA or relevant masters degree
- Background in consulting or enterprise services
- Experience with transformation initiatives such as core system modernization, analytics adoption, or digital distribution
