Functional title : Section Head TOS (Truck Operating System) (20-25 yrs)
Key points and objectives of the position:
As a Head of TOS , your primary responsibility is to drive continuous improvement initiatives, optimize operational processes, and enhance overall efficiency within the organization. You will play a pivotal role in implementing Lean principles to reduce waste, optimize / Re-engineer business processes and add value to the customers.
Responsibilities:
- Drive continuous improvement culture in DICV through trainings, process improvement & transformation projects across the value chain in the company.
- Acting as a link between the TOS projects and the executive leadership and ensure prioritization projects that align with strategic goals of the organization
- Develop members of TOS team through the structured lean consultant qualification program (LCQP) for the period of 12 months.
- Identify potential projects for efficiency improvement at Operations through implementation of lean tools in collaboration with the line function.
- Report the overall progress of TOS projects and other team activities to the top management.
- Connect with Global TOS team, other truck functions to learn, share and deploy best practices & tools Managing, Lead, Motivate and Promote the assigned staff by means of target agreements and performance reviews based on vision. Guarantee internal communication.
- Ensure individual and task related qualification. Guarantee that the agreed upon goals are achieved.
- Comply to all company and location wide regulations and guidelines valid for the transferred area of responsibility ( Eg Safety and Environmental Protection regulations, working time regulations, Guidelines etc.). Inform assigned staff about the appropriate regulations and instruct observance.

Description of tasks:
Main task :
1. Leadership and Team management:
1. Lead, mentor, and develop a team of Lean specialists, ensuring they effectively implement Lean methodologies.
2. Define departmental goals and performance metrics, aligning them with business objectives.
3. Foster a results-driven and collaborative culture within the Lean Implementation team. 20%
Lean strategy & Execution:
1. Support and implement Operations & Logistics strategy, ensuring alignment with corporate goals.
2. Champion Lean, Six Sigma, and Continuous Improvement (CI) methodologies to drive efficiency and cost savings.
3. Conduct Value Stream Mapping (VSM), Kaizen events, Standard Work, and 5S initiatives to optimize operations.
4. Support in prioritizing Lean projects and oversee projects, ensuring timely execution and ROI-driven results. 30%
Change management & stakeholder management:
1. Act as a key advisor to senior leadership on Lean transformation initiatives.
2. Partner with cross-functional teams to ensure smooth adoption of Lean principles across departments.
3. Lead Lean steering committees and report progress to leadership team. 20%
Performance monitoring & KPI management:
1. Define & track Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to measure Lean impact.
2. Regularly assess operational performance, identifying areas for improvement.
3. Implement Visual Management Systems and data-driven decision-making processes. 10%
Training & Capability building:
1. Develop and deliver Lean training programs to employees at all levels.
2. Conduct & improve structured Lean certification program for staff development.
3. Create & sustain Lean knowledge-sharing platform to sustain continuous improvement. 20%
Communication relations
- President of Operations & Logistics Align operations strategies and drive continuous improvements, support in issues arising in daily business, inform and escalate issues on time Constantly

Qualification:
Education:
- Bachelors degree in mechanical engineering, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field. (Preferred)
- Master's degree is an added advantage (Desired)
Experience:
10+ years of experience with proven track record in Manufacturing or Industrial Engineering function along with experience in Kaizen implementation and providing lean training
Specific knowledge:
1. Proven track record of leadership in manufacturing or Industrial engineering roles, preferably within the commercial vehicle or automotive industry.
2. Strong understanding of lean manufacturing principles, Six Sigma methodologies, and process optimization techniques.
3. Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to analyze complex manufacturing issues and develop effective solutions.
4. In-depth knowledge of manufacturing technologies, automation, and digital tools
5. Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and team-building skills.
6. Experience with project management and cross-functional collaboration.
7. Knowledge of relevant safety regulations and standards within the manufacturing sector.
8. Strong organizational and strategic planning abilities.
