Role - Social Media Manager

Direct Reportees - Nil (IC Role)
Role Objective:
Lead the social media charter for Sebamed Personal Care including Influencer & Creator campaigns from a perspective of driving the expertise and science led credentials for Sebamed.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Creator & Content Management
- Scientific Storytelling & Authentic Content: Develop a content strategy focused on communicating product efficacy, ingredient technology, and dermatological benefits in a highly engaging, visual, and trend-responsive manner (e.g., explainer videos, ingredient deep-dives, myth-busting Reels). Content must clearly articulate the benefits of the pH 5.5 healthy skin barrier concept.
- Credibility-Focused Influencer Strategy: Build and manage relationships with a tiered network of influencers, prioritizing beauty experts, dermatologists, and credible content creators who can validate product claims and elevate brand authority.
- Social Media Content Management: Working with the social media agency to develop and execute the social media calendar
- Trend & Platform Innovation: Act as the internal expert on emerging social platforms (e.g., TikTok, YouTube Shorts) and viral beauty trends, quickly deploying branded content and campaigns to capture audience attention and drive conversion.
- Community Expert Engagement: Manage community engagement by answering product-specific and technical questions with accuracy and confidence, positioning Sebamed as a knowledgeable leader in skin health.
- Performance Analytics: Analyze content and campaign performance against core marketing KPIs (e.g., engagement rate, video completion rate, traffic to product pages) to continuously refine the scientific and creative narrative.
Stakeholder Engagement:
- Collaborate with cross-functional team leaders including brand managers for Skin care & Hair Care
- Partner with influencer, creative and media agencies to drive successful media campaigns while following compliance processes.
People and Culture:
- Promote and embody the USV Credo
- Conduct periodic reviews, ensuring continuous growth and development
Stakeholder Engagement
- Cross-Functional Integration: Partner with Brand Managers (Skin & Hair Care) and external agencies (Influencer, Creative, Media) to execute high-impact, compliant campaigns that align with brand objectives.
- Crisis & Empathy Leadership: Proactively monitor social sentiment and "chatter" to manage sensitive topics with professional empathy, ensuring swift escalation of critical issues to internal stakeholders.
- Consumer Feedback Loop: Synthesize community insights and social trends into actionable reports, helping marketing teams refine product selection and brand messaging.
People and Culture:
- Promote and embody the USV Credo
- Oversee right agency onboarding to ensure best social media output
- Conduct regular reviews with agency to ensure timely project delivery
- Leverage personal lived experience to foster an authentic and supportive environment for the community.
STAKEHOLDER INTERACTION
Type of Interaction: Internal
Interacts with: Brand Managers, Category Head, Head of Marketing, Expert team, Q&A team, Legal, regulatory, finance etc.
Nature of Interaction: Routine communication regarding instructions, requests, and standard work tasks; replying to consumer complaints; and managing escalations; providing community feedback and insights to Product/R&D teams
Type of Interaction: External
Interaction with: Agency, Experts, Core Customers, and Retail Customers, creative and media planning, digital marketing, Parenting Influencers, Pediatricians, Mom/Dad Advocates, Online Community
Nature of Interaction: Planning social media strategy, looking out for trends, incorporating best practices, timely delivery of projects, daily assessments, forging relationships with influencers; engaging in conversations with the community; responding to queries with empathy.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
Professional Experience and Relevant Skills:
This is a role for a beauty-forward trendsetter with a strong affinity for personal care, possesses a background in science and strong understanding in content & creator management.
As a brand built on dermatological science, your primary mission is to translate the complex science and R&D behind our products into engaging, digestible, and trend-setting digital content.
You will be the driving force behind our online buzz, building both credibility and excitement in a highly competitive beauty landscape.
- Professional Background: 3+ years of professional experience in Social Media, Influencer Marketing, or Community Management for a consumer brand.
- Soft Skills: Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, characterized by high empathy, warmth, and professionalism.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency with major social media platforms (Instagram, Facebook, TikTok) and social listening/scheduling tools.
Academic Qualifications & Certifications:
Educational Qualification: Master of Business Administration in Sales & Marketing from a premier Business School; Background in Science is a plus.
